About this item

  • The job of the P-trap is to direct the waste from the shower away from the drain area and out of the home. In a stationary home, this would mean out of the home entirely and into the sewage system below. In an RV, however, this means that the water goes into the gray water tank that you empty out later.
  • Used water can often carry smells and other things that you might not want around you and the P-trap keeps away the smells and fumes associated with it as well as any small organisms that might want to enter your living space. The P-trap is made of three parts; the inlet, the downward bend, and the outlet. The inlet is where the water enters.
  • The downward bend is where the water gathers and fills to create the airtight seal that keeps out the fumes and small organisms. The outlet is where the water exits the pipe. Generally speaking, the P-trap is located as close to the center of the shower as possible, as the farther away the trap is from the drain, the more smells will accumulate over time.

This kit has several parts to it. It comes with a curved pipe, a 90 degree elbow, a drain stopper, and a straight pipe. These parts are made from black ABS Plastic. The drain stopper is chrome, giving you that nice shiny, clean look. This tubular ABS HUB and direct connect P-Trap work at keeping smells coming from your waste tanks at bay. This P-Trap fits you 2" drain holes.

used another drain since this one was plastic. The drain would be the right size for my bathtub but drain pipe pieces does not connect to the rest of it

Make sure you order the correct trap. This trap has the female threads (nut) on the p trap exit end. My epro has male thread on the p trap exit end. Fortunately I will be able to return it and get the correct one.

Had to return this because it is 1 1/4 inch not 1 1/2 inch. Most RV have 1 1/2 inch main drains as our did so could not attach this to the main.

Plasic chrome drain part. Threads of elbo did not match existing plumbing. Could only use one part of whole kit.
