The outside is made out of leather and feels very smooth. The interior is made up of felt and also is really smooth! It has 2 vent holes, 1 on each side and the case feels very secure! It is an awesome case and looks exactly like the photos that are shown for display and there are no loose threads at all! I love this case! It also fits in a standard bassoon case pretty okay, although it would be placed sort of diagonally. This is an awesome case for this price!

This bassoon reed case held my reeds very well. The ventilation hole is very nice because it ensures there is no mold buildup. Buy if you are looking for a good priced and good reed case!

great reed case. the leather felt good, but i heard people talking about how the fibers got on their reed, which happened to me, but was like 1 strand of the fiber, which i just brushed off. what made this 4 star instead of 5 was how the hole was drilled in both sides, but the leather didn't fit so great. like i could push the leather below the hole and it would go, but its not that big of a problem. also, how the case opens has a weird feeling of closing it sinc i have to push it a tiny bit to make sure its fully closed. i reccommend buying this since it is quite good.

I'm just a novice bassoonist, but this item has a protective velvet fabric interior, and the slots hold the shafts of the reeds securely, with a little room to spare. The case hinge appears to be plastic, which implies that it will wear out over a period of time, but it should last long enough to save several reeds from falling on a stage floor or cracking during insertion/removal. The case is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket.

Works well for a few bassoon reads. Not sure how the case will hold up, but for the price it's well worth buying.

Unfortunately, the latch doesn’t work great, and I have to be very particular about the way I store the reeds, otherwise, it damages many dollars worth of reeds.
