These numbers are awesome. They are legible from a long way away and show up well on a black mailbox during the day and at night.They are a *little* aggravating to peel off the yellow backing (having fingernails helps) but the clear overlay is brilliant; not only to ensure even spacing, but so you don't have to touch the adhesive on the numbers themselves and perhaps lessen their stickiness.I marked the baseline with a piece of masking tape and then positioned each overlay side by side, right up next to each other. Once in place and the numbers firmly pressed onto the mailbox, the clear overlay was easily peeled off without leaving any residue. Then I pulled up the tape, and voilà !

Legible, adheres really well, and most importantly, great value.I like the fact the numbers come in a transparent wrap square, so it is easy to handle once you take the number and the wrap from the back paper. That square wrap also allows to align the numbers without major issues.Everyone has pointed out to how hard it was to take the plastic wrap and the number from the back paper. I was lucky. As I was preparing to put the numbers on the mailbox, I had a distraction and the numbers fell on the pavement and were directly exposed to sunlight (temps of around 80 degrees). The plastic paper bubbled and was easy to separate from the paper backing. Not sure if it was the exposure to the hot asphalt or the exposure to direct sunlight. Either way, it helps with the installation process.

The numbers are great. They show up well on my mailbox, the only difficulty was separating the numbers from the paper backing. Would definitely buy these again. Well worth the price.

The numbers look good after being placed on the mailbox, but they are very hard to open and peel off the paper. Each one took more than 2 minutes to open and peel off. I like the numbers, but sometimes as simple as replacing numbers on both sides of my mailbox became a very involved chore.

As another reviewer indicated, they are much, much easier to apply if they sit in sunlight for a minute or two. Practice with a number you don't need!
