IDOU Brand Story (I love Denzel & Ouida)
IDOU’S story begins with our founder Juliet. A woman of thirty-five, Juliet knew what mattered most to her: her career, loved ones, and being outdoors.
On a bike ride several years ago, Juliet and her husband Denzel were wearing reflective vests from the company she worked for at the time. Unexpectedly, Denzel was injured. After investigation, they discovered the reflective vest provided no reflective ability when the wearer is bent over.
Denzel’s unfortunate incident prompted Juliet to research the quality of reflective gear on the market. To her dismay, she found that many brands were selling ineffective products that compromised their customers’ safety. Many failed to provide an inclusive size range and, if they did, they were misleading and not true to size. Others omitted essential features to save costs and expedite production.
To avoid future accidents, Juliet specially designed a reflective vest for Denzel. However, as her daughter Ouida grow, she starts to concern Ouida’s safety, so she soon began developing safety gear for Ouida as well.Caring for her loved ones inspired her to extend her talents and passion for safety and create something that would benefit everyone. This marked the beginning of IDOU.

I have been wearing this early mornings when walking with my mother. It is very noticeable, so I feel a bit safer on the sidewalk. I also like how the pocket fits my iPhone and it is right in front. I also like that the sides are adjustable to what I am wearing. A sweater or a tee, the reflective vest fits great over it.

I got this vest because where I run has shadows on the road (from trees) in the morning and the evening. Some of my running clothes are dark, and thus makes me less visible to cars as I run along the edge of the road. I've used this vest twice now, and I can tell that cars are noticing me sooner. It is very lightweight and breathable as advertised. As some of the other reviews have said, the sizing runs a little small. I'm in between a large and and XL t-shirt right now, and I got the XL for this vest. It fits well, although the length is still on the short side compared to my t-shirt. I'm glad I got this.

The vest seems great; it fits well and is super lightweight. However, I had specifically bought this one because a 2-day delivery time was promised. Instead it came a full 4 days after the stated delivery date, after I had left for my cycling trip. Very unfortunate.

Very good for reflective qualities. Decent quality, the zipper is a little flimsy, so I'm just very careful zipping open and closed. But, I like the pouch, especially a zipper closure for it. Will put a zipper pull on it to make it easier to grab if wearing gloves. Fits over my thicker winter coat, which is great for walking. Doesn't impede range of motion either.

it works well except for, if you put anything heavy in the pocket it makes the vest pull down and against the neck, also the reflective tape is coming off on the bottom of the vest. It is a good price and the Velcro works well. I recommend it, its light weight and very brightly colored, high visibility

I bought this to significantly increase the nighttime reflectivity of my bright yellow biking jacket. It does so perfectly. It's very easy to throw on over my jacket, it's highly reflective, is adjustable (in the waist), and even has a nice little zip front pocket. Excellent design!
