Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) standards. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-35-C standard for operating temperature (200°C/392°F) and insulation makeup. The insulation is made from modified Polyester with a Polyamideimide overcoat, and protects the coiled wire from short-circuiting. The high temperature properties of this wire make it suitable for severe thermal overload applications.

Well it's wire. Not too much to go wrong. The small bit I used, about 15 inches is the correct diameter and the insulation is good. i used it to replace a fractured winding on an inductor in a radio. Perfect.Bill

Good stuff. Perfect for winding coils for stun guns, tesla coils, or other situations where you need an electromagnet. Also makes dandy trip wires for your home security system. However, the wire is insulated so you'll need upwards of 10,000 volts or so to really cause a trespasser to go the other way. Can't handle much current, so dont just plug right into your 220v dryer outlet.
