This product was a perfect fit and sound great. The actual color is more yellow/tan than the dark brown that is showing in the listing photos.

I got this to replace the clear, plastic head on one of my doumbeks. I generally prefer natural goatskins but wanted at least one drum with a quality synthetic so as to maintain the tuning in changing humidity. This one fits and works just fine, and to my surprise it has become my go-to drum now - over several others with natural heads. Has great high and low ends and looks very natural. You do have to be very careful with the measurements though to make sure you get the right one for your drum.

I guess the cheaper doumbeks are anything but consistent in the diameters of the tops. I have an aluminum one, old, I don't know where from. I tried a Remo head that was 8 23/32" ID. Too big, so I went with this one, 8 5/8" ID. Really a bit too small, but I could hammer it into place and get the top ring bolted on. It sounds very good, no problem there. I wish they made heads that were, say 8 21/32", or 8 22/32", which would probably be just right for my doumbek. I've only just put this head on, so I can't speak to longevity, but aside from the fact that I had to basically force it into place, it's fine. I'd give it 5 stars except for this. Quality and sound seem right. Also, the "crown" on this head is a bit short for my doumbek, so the top rim doesn't screw all the way into place, which leaves a bit of rim above the head. It doesn't seem to be a problem playing itthough. The original Alexandria head fits this drum perfectly, so I was expecting something similar with the Remo. Not.

This head has a great feel with a wonderfully sensitive response -- deep lows and crackling highs. I am perfectly satisfied with its performance on my darbuka and would recommend it to anyone, beginner or experienced.

Needed to tap the aluminum ring anchoring the Remo head down around the lip of the doumbek, the fit is much too tight. Also the 3/8†height of the Remo head is short compared to the original plastic head, so the ring can’t fully seat and the rim projects ~1/16†higher than the head. It’s still playable, and happily the sound quality is excellent!
