I’ve had a few of these kids RC construction toys for my son. For the most part I’ve been a bit disappointed with their quality. This excavator is an exception to that. It’s not going to function like one costing $100, but for the current price of $35 it is well worth the money. You are able to independently move the scoop and both of the arms allowing you to approximate the shoveling motion of a real excavator. Because of the way the controls are separated, you are able to move multiple functions at the same time. I.e, one of the arms is controlled with the left stick while the bucket and the other arm are controlled with the right. This allows you to stretch, raise and lower at the same time.I will say that it may be too complicated for younger kids. My five year old gets frustrated pretty easily with it because he isn’t willing to practice till he gets it. I’ve spent about an hour playing with it and it’s just starting to become muscle memory for me.This can be used indoors or in a sandbox and can definitely lift sand and move it before dumping it. The body rotates almost 720° giving you a lot of leeway. One absolutely necessary function on this machine that many others are lacking is that it won’t let you over strain the motor. If you’re doing something that is too hard it just stops that movement, but you can immediately start again - such as I was working with kinetic sand which is really too dense to scoop. When the strain became too much the movement would stop allowing the scoop is slowly sink into the sand, and then you push it a bit more and a bit more. With regular sand it’s not an issue. In addition if you reach the end of the servo travel and the arm or bucket can’t move anymore in one direction, you hear a clicking noise like a ratchet, and it prevents you from trying to force the servo till it fails. The dozer blade is kind of lame, but it’s more that it’s there. Battery life is good, and my son loves the ‘smoke’ function. The sound and lights can both be turned on or off, and the tracks work well, though the movement controls are a little awkward given how many channels are on the remote.Either way I’d say this is a good toy for anyone from age 5/6 up to young teens. Def recommended for the price, though there are certainly better ones out there if you’re willing to pay more.

I have always wanted an RC excavator. I'm just a big kid at heart I guess. I didn't want to pay big bucks for a toy, and I can easily say this is a very fairly priced RC toy, especially for one that can do so many functions. The steam exhaust is just cool. It's a challenge to maneuver, just like the real thing. It's great!I haven't been able to master the tricks that you see people do in real excavators, but you can do just about anything with the range of control you get. It just takes practice. The battery doesn't last forever, but that's expected when you've got so many functions.Scares the heck out of the dog.Highly recommend.

I recieved an item that looks like used or maybe returned, the bottom part where you put the batteries have a lot of scratches (see pictures) probably from removing the battery cover. Besides the scratches, everything works and functional. This is a small scale toy that is mainly made out of plastic and is powered by 3.7v dc only so don't expect much power out of it. The tracks run straight but the remote control sticks and buttons are assigned oddly that makes it a little bit confusing to control.

This item looks just like the real deal! Your little one will have so much fun playing construction! Battery as long as fully charged lasts longer than 20 mins. The controller is pretty easy to understand and use ! This item is well worth asking price it truly is a miniature version of an actual excavator!!

We got this toy for a 10 year old who loves cars. We are still waiting for the birthday to come, but I can see that all adult men in the family are going to enjoy it as well. Perfect bonding piece. The backyard allows for taking full advantage of this toy, but it could also be taken to the beach or park.We have tested the remote and all the parts look well made, good colors, sturdy. Unless it breaks after the first day of heavy usage, I am definitely recommending it. Will update the review if something unexpected happens.

The GAHOU Remote Control Excavator Toy has been a delightful surprise, impressing me with its meticulous attention to detail and functionality. This toy goes beyond simple play, featuring a metal bucket that genuinely scoops and a water dropper to fill its tank, simulating smoke like a real diesel-powered unit. The lights on the cab and the authentic sound of the engine enhance the realism, making it feel like operating a mini construction site right in your backyard. What's more, it includes a thoughtful mute option for those times you prefer some quiet while still enjoying the excavation action. This feature-rich model offers a robust experience that could captivate both young and older enthusiasts alike. Given its capabilities and the sheer fun it provides, I find it to be a great value for anyone fascinated by construction toys.

My boys love this remote control excavator! The details are excellent, they love this thing! The quality is outstanding, it seems incredibly durable and very sturdy - crucial for a toy. The controller is simple enough for my 5 year-olds to use, and I love that the battery is rechargeable. $50 seems steep for one toy, but this is totally worth every penny!
