- You need to turn off your laptop and disconnect the power.
- Turn the laptop to the back, install a new battery, and fix it with a tool.
- When the computer is turned on, if it is not recognised, it is recommended to update the BIOS settings or please disconnecting the old battery, and holding down the power button for 20 seconds, then connect the new battery.
- Do Discharge the new battery use to 5%(not to 0%) and then charge to 95%, and cycle 3-4 times.

The third-party, inexpensive battery arrived promptly and fit perfectly. The computer charged overnight and booted without incident; all applications worked well.The battery needed to be charged after 3 hours. Repeating the charging cycle over several days produced similar results: 3 hours max between charges. (Not surprising, since other reviewers also commented on the battery life.)I had hoped for longer battery life, but note that the battery arrived quickly and my computer is working fine. I just keep the charger handy.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5110 which is almost old enough to vote, and the original battery no longer would keep enough charge to sustain for a short, accidental cord disconnect. I found and one clicked this one, and it arrived the next day. Removing the dead one and installing this one took about forty five seconds.The replacement came partly charged and quickly accepted full charge. I pulled the cord again by accident and about an hour and a half later, discovered I still had about 68% charge on the new battery. That sounds fishy, but I'm not making it up. I accidentally needed it the day after I installed it.It is what it claims to be and works as specified.

This was the correct battery for my old Dell computer. I plugged it in and it worked fine. I gave it a 3 for battery life because I have no idea how long it will last. I don't generally use that computer on battery only. But I do think I'll give it a try maybe taking in back to the patio in the morning when I have coffee and see how it works just on the battery.

It worked well for a year and then would not hold a charge. I am trying a second one…hopefully this one will last longer…only time will tell.
