So, I got this to help with taking up carpet. Yes, a sharp razor blade may be a bit faster ... at first. But those dull pretty quickyly. And THAT'S what I got tired of. So I got one of these. At first I didn't think it was going to work. But after playing around with it a bit I was able to find a technique that seemed to work. It more that halved the time to make cuts in carpet. Is it like a "knife through hot butter"? No. It does take a little work. I found a way to use my leg at the back of my elbow to help push it along and holding the carpet tight with my other hand to keep the carpet tight while cutting. So, with a little experimentation, this DOES work for carpet. I've only done a few rooms so far so can't say anything long term. But so far happy with things.

My job requires to cut a lot of cardboard everyday. I have to use utility knife to cut all the times and I am tired. This tool make my life so much easier. Easy to use. Always sharp. Now I can not live without it

i bought these and the cutter stopped working before i could use them. i'm not going to buy another cutter . it did work fine when it worked but it died. i'm sure these blades will work fine because they don't have to be real sharp since the motor and the little guard basically does all the work. the blades don't have to be very sharp. they just have to rotate
