This has already saved me from a huge basement flood. 12" of rain in only an hour! Yeah, it was a nutty day. My main sump pump could not keep up. This gave the alarm and I sprung into action setting up additional transfer pumps to get it outside. I still got water, but it never covered the entire floor. IT could have been a complete disaster. It will detect even the slightest water and is loud. Make sure to put it on a flat portion of the basement floor and consider the path where the water will flow so that you can catch it as early as possible. Mine is sitting right next to my sump hole. Also beware that if you have cats, they might play with it and move it. Check the batteries often. So far batteries are lasting about 6 months for me.The downside is that in many cases, if this alarm works, and the water is flowing in quickly enough, it's going to make a mess either way, because you won't be able to address it quickly enough. However, it could help prevent a MAJOR flood. Have a plan! Back up power and additional pump on standby. I have a generator and even a coiled up extension and AC inverter hanging on the wall in case I need to use my truck for power!

We had a mysterious leak in the bathroom in our basement. It ruined the carpet in the basement. To discover the issue, we called a plumber out, but the issue was not anything "normal" that could be found. And rather than spending the large amount of money to send a camera through the pipes and snaking - and perhaps still not finding anything, the plumber suggested we consider getting one of these leak detectors. So we opted for that. And man, am I glad we did. Twice since the mystery leak, I heard the detector alert. Once it was just something small, but the other time, it was a full-on leak in the bathroom again. I heard the alarm and made there just in time to throw a towel in front of the rising tide of water to stop it from getting into the hallway and ruining the carpet again. This little guy paid for himself 1000 times over!Pros:ReliableEasy to useInexpensiveReusableEasy to testCon:The ONLY negative I would say on these is that, although the alert sound is loud, it is not loud enough for someone to hear on the floor above while taking a shower (which is when this occurs at our house). But this is not the fault of the detector, just be aware if that is what you might need, consider something tied to alarm system or maybe wifi alerting or something. I cannot ding a star off for this though, considering the $$$$ this device has saved me.

What I was looking for is a water leak alarm that has a remote alarm unit. So you could have the transmitter in the basement and the receiver (alarm unit) closer to the living space. Anyway, couldn't find any at a reasonable price. So I purchased a few of these. Easy to test as you just wet you finger and place across the two metal sensors. Also the 9 volt battery is replaceable is each year or so just replace the battery and the unit is ready to go. Probably 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch high so easy enough to put by a water heater, washer or anything else that leaks. Just put in the lowest area so any water will trigger the alarm. Better to find out that something is leaking sooner rather than later, when drywall, carpeting, etc., needs to be replaced.

Great product at a great price! The volume (loudness) of the alarm beeps is a bit low, but can be heard quite clearly if you’re alert and have no hearing issues. In two years of ownership, these alarms have saved us thousand of dollars in damages and repairs that would have most certainly set us back quite a bit had we not placed these alarms in different critical settings within our home (namely, right under plumbing and shut-off valves, as well as other critical places, such as water heaters and A/Cs, etc.). Not having these leak alarms at all would have left us very vulnerable to plumbing leak disasters, so, we are grateful for these. And the merchant was professional and excellent! We strongly recommend this product… as well as the merchant!

Had some friends recommend this for our RV and we're glad we did. It uses a 9v battery, very easy to install. Thankfully nothing has been wet yet so I can't speak personally to the functionality or sensitivity to water or the alarm volume.

Worthless item. It alarms irratically, for no reason at all. After adding the batteries, I tested it, first, on dry tabletops in my living area, where I heard annoying alarms intermittently, at all hours of the day and night.Unable to figure out which one was alarming, I separated the 3 alarms. Turns out: 2 of 3 were doing that. So, I tossed 2 of the 3 that I had bought - into the trash. The third one is still here. But as I write this review, I'm afraid to use it, either. I'm now wondering if perhaps the defect it might work in various ways, so that, maybe it just won't ever alarm at all?? Who knows?? Guess I should throw away the last one of the 3, too. What a total waste of money!I have used a different brand, previously, and it worked as it should: Honeywell Water Leak Alarm, but mine are old (now under my sinks) and so I wanted to replace them with newer alarms. Stupid me, I thought such a simple item wouldn't vary by manufacturer. Lesson learned.

We had a leak in our upstairs bathroom and did not know about it for days. This alarm could have notified us of the problem, had we had it. Now, every water source (sink, washer, sump pump, bathroon, etc.) in our house has an alarm located near or under it. They work beautifully. I strongly recommen having an alarm, it could save you thousands should you have a leak.

Beeps a couple of times repeatedly when set off. Not as loud as any clock radio alarm. Much more expensive than the simple ones I’ve bought before that are more compact and squeal.

Very loud if it detects water. Better be safe than sorry, we use a bunch of them around the house

É excelente. Não tem conectividade com nada, seja Alexa, Google etc, mas apita muito alto quando os sensores entram em contato com a água.
