The USB cable can be connected from behind the holder or any of the two lateral large holes on each side. It is applicable for bulky USB cables with ferrite beads. Works well. I travel with it so needed it to be able to fold flat, but with some slight modifications it was easy enough. Well worth the price

I wish there was a way to break it down fast to throw in a bag or case , other than that it does what it designed to do. This stand will hold an RF Explorer with a rubber case protector on.
