Works great. If you download the PC driver you can configure the reader for just about any format HID card there is. Once that is done, the reader will act like a generic keyboard when plugged into the USB port of a PC. I used it on several Windows computers and it worked perfectly on all of them. It's immediately recognized as a keyboard when you plug it in, and as long as you have a program open that accepts keyboard inputs (like notepad or word), when you present a card or key fob to the reader it sends a text string to the PC consisting of the facility code and card number. Perfect!Using a small USB adapter I can even plug this into my smart phone and use it to read HID credentials without a PC.The only trouble I had was when a friend tried to use it on their Apple computer. Even though it was recognized as a keyboard, the Apple was not satisfied and wants to determine exactly what kind of keyboard it is. I guess it's not satisfied with a "generic" keyboard identification, so it forces you to type a specific key sequence on the keyboard, which of course can't be done, so it never works. Way to go Apple.

I do a lot of access control work and get clients constantly wanting to order additional keys. However they have no idea what their Facility code is and calling the manufacturer (looking at you allegion) is a waste of time. This device can decode not only the prox info, but also the facility code as well. This is truly an amazing product based solely off that aspect of it. On top of that it boots fast, no lag in-between plugging it in and being able to use. Works natively with windows 7/8/10. Also works with a lot of proprietary programs. Has the ability to emulate other readers to work with them. The only real negative thing I can say about this is that it looks cheasy and cheap. It does not look like a commercial piece of equipment. However it is made well and bouncing around in my tool box for a long time and hasn't had an issue yet.

We purchased these for our Secure Printing project and they are working as expected, easy to use and nothing to configure on the device. The reader works well with multiple applications.

We needed to use it for RFID Cards but found after talking to support, that it requires HID cards only. RFIDeas customer support was good and helped us figure out the issue within a minute or so, told us what to exchange this for and then we set up the return.. So 4 Stars for Support.

Reads our cards great. It is the exact same reader that is on all of our machines so I knew it would provide us with the outputs we were needing. A bit expensive but it does work well without any special software. Will scan the card code directly into the highlighted field.

Met all expectations. Was nearly plug and play, only needed one quick call to the mfg. who was very helpful.
