Over the years I've gone on the cheap and bought lesser quality tools and have always been disappointed. If I need a tool and Rigid sells it, I know that it'll hold up, and you can get replacement parts, which you can't get on most one and done tools.I've cut copper, galvanised, steel, even schedule 40 pvc, in a pinch, and haven't had any issues with walking, mis-alignment, chipped or rolled cutting wheels.Solid pipe cutter

I purchased this somewhat skeptically to cut down the posts to my wire shelving units but the cutter worked better than advertised. I was able to cut down the posts without disassembling the units saving loads of time. The cut was clean and exact. I strongly recommend this cutter for similar projects.

Rigid has always made good cutters, and this set is no different.. Purchased to cut 1inch and 3/4 conduit pipe, and it does it well. My review is not a paid one like many on Amazon, lol.

Clean and easy cuts on 3/4†EMT. I don’t have to use any tools to hold the pipe when cutting.

Es perfecta esta herramienta. Hace un corte como se espera de él. Pensé en comprarlo porque es mucho más caro q cortatubos similares pero valga que me decidà por él. La calidad se impone. Lo recomiendo.

First, let me say this cutter worked quite nicely on 2" EMT (steel conduit) and on 2 3/8" 16 ga galvanized steel chainlink fenceposts. It's supposed to work on these types of material - that's why this model (as opposed to 32940, I think) ships with the heavy duty cutter wheel for thin-wall steel tubing. Of course, the first few cuts were like butter then, once the wheel was "broken-in" cuts took a little longer and I experienced a little spiraling using it on vertical fenceposts. I didn't try the cutter on materials other than galvanized steel.Problems:I see 2 problems with 32950 - first, a spare cutter wheel is NOT included. The tool I received had the spot in the handle/knob where Ridgid would normally put one, but the hole was not drilled or tapped and the Ridgid literature is vague, as the catalogs list that model family as coming with a spare, but the info is missing when you drill down to the specific tool. This is a problem with Ridgid's communication. I submitted a correction to Amazon's description, but they wouldn't change it from "includes spare cutter wheel" to "this model does not come with a spare cutter wheel."Next, my tool lost it's screw... what I mean is the shoulder bolt that holds the cutter wheel and serves as its pivot fell out mid-cut and, since I was outside and on a hill, the cutter wheel and bold both fell out and rolled down the hill. I found the cutter wheel, but not the bolt. (minus one star). Keep in mind I had performed less than 2 dozen cuts with the brand new tool, then had to stop work and go to the hardware store to find a bolt that approximately fit to finish the last 6 cuts.Buyer beware. Amazon took mine back with a refund, and the tool made smooth clean cuts, but I just couldn't justify the near $100 (with tax) price tag for a tool that fell apart and didn't include the spare parts listed.

This is the tubing cutter for PVC and soft metal I was looking for. Didn't go down to 1/4" as I wanted but I bought a small cutter for 8.00 dollars that takes care of that issue. The Ridgid model opens to 2 -1/8" and does everything I ask of it easily and quickly. Good value for the money, cutting blade can be easily replaced when necessary and this tool should last a long time. Buy with confidence.

I used this to cut 1" diameter electrical conduit pipe for the frames of my two canvas wall tents. The tool is perfect for this job, very sturdy and excellent quality. The blade cuts efficiently through the steel pipe. For all of the total pipes I needed to cut for two wall tents, I replaced the blade once. Once cut, the outside diameter of the cut is rolled in, so there are no burrs on the outside rim of the fresh cut. That is nice. However, the rolled steel is pushed into the inside diameter, so you might consider getting the Ridgid brand demurring tool if safety is a concern for you. This is what I got, also on Amazon, and it works great: RIDGID 29983 223S Stainless Steel Pipe Reamer, 1/4-inch to 1-1/4-inch Inner/Outer ReamerSteel burrs make a nice, deep razor cut on fingers. That can really suck.

I own almost one of every Ridgid hand tool, they have never let me down. This is a solid cutter, real pro stuff that the average home owner can afford. Don't get me started on Ridgid power tools, I don't like them, but Ridgid's bread and butter is their plumbing tools.
