Austria's Riedel is the world's premier manufacturer of wine glasses and, with this set of four brandy snifters, the company makes a foray into designing glasses for other beverages. Like the wine glasses in Riedel's Vinum series, these snifters are made of 24-percent lead crystal. The bulbous balloon-style bowl on each glass is specifically shaped for drinkers to cup the bottom and warm the brandy or cognac with one hand. Coupled with the narrower rim on the glass, the bowl is also designed to waft the liquor's aroma to the nose with each sip. I love Reidel glasses. I have literally dropped one on my tile counter and the glass bounced without breaking! I also love the very thin rims. They are a bit pricey but worth every penny.

I love Riedel, they make some of the most delicate beautiful Glasses in the world. Its just that they are delicate, and have a tendency to break over time. Its just something that comes with making something as elegant as this.

Having a real cognac glass really does make a difference. The warming of the cognac with the palms of your hands works! And the shape of the glass enhances the sniffing which, in turn, enhances the taste of a fine cognac.

These were larger than I expected but I really like them. They’re very fragile so you need to be very careful with these glasses . They were delivered on time and I would definitely purchase from this vendor again .
