I have a carry on 5x8 mesh bottom utility trailer I purchased from tractor supply. I wanted to add a little more height to the trailer and I found this kit. I couldn’t find any pictures on how it was going to be installed until I went through the reviews on here. Install was a breeze and very pleased with the results. It took me 45 min with basic hand tools, 7/8 for the lug nuts, 15mm for the factory axle u bolts, 11/16 for the leaf spring nut ( bolt pushes out) 18mm for the new u bolts nuts. I would highly recommend getting this if you have a bolt and slipper spring on your trailer.

Work very well on my Lowes trailer to install axle under the leaf springs. It is more robust than what comes on the trailer. I mounted it all up and then welded the spring seats to the axle. Don't just flip the axle. Use this kit and do it right keep the arch of the axle up as it should be. I was able to put the 12" tires and wheels on the 5x8 trailer after this upgrade.

I was surprised at how much beefier these u bolts were compared to the ones that came on the trailer. I went the route of welding on the new seat. It would be very difficult to properly alight everything with the seat being able to move. I carefully aligned the bracket and just did a short 1" weld on each side. This ensures proper alignment and eliminates the possibility of the axle twisting. I think it took me about an hour and a half to to install the lift kit. This kit should work with any trailer with a 1-3/4" axle and it is the only kit available I could find. I also found it to be reasonably priced too.

I thought I ordered the wrong size, but it fit our 1 7/8'' axle perfectly. Great kit, great price. Nice heavy duty stuff.

They are really good quality but you have to line the brackets up exactly strait before you weld.

I bought this kit to switch the axle on my Lowe's (Carry-On) 4x8 trailer from an under-slung to over-slung configuration. This kit works perfectly to allow that change, without flipping the axle over. With the axle correctly oriented my payload is not decreased and my tires won't wear prematurely.These brackets and bolts fit perfectly. The only change I made was that I hit them with a coat of black paint to prevent corrosion.Install is a breeze. Jack the trailer up, take the wheels off, and unbolt the stock brackets. Then pull the axle through the spring/frame, and bolt the new brackets on with the axle below the leaf. No need to unbolt the leaf springs. The bolts in this kit are slightly larger than the stock set making them a little more robust which is an added bonus.
