I love this. It looks great and it works. Not great, but it works. Like most of the reviews, I didn’t think it worked either, but then I turned it around and looked through the wrong end at my tv. It showed a miniature version of what was on tv. Then I looked at the correct end. It does appear there is a white haze and you can’t see through it. Again, I tried focusing on tv and the colors on tv started showing up. I didn’t have the patience to try to get it in view, but the more I turned the sections of the telescope, the more I could see. I don’t think I would count on using it on our boat, but it does work.

Ayyye laddies, so there I was knee deep in cannon balls, when all of a sudden a salty sailing vessel approached my starboard. With a gaze through my handy looking glass I picked up from this merchant, I was able to thwart the loss of all my crew's booty. Looking impeccable, all my laddies claimed me, the captain, a master of my trade. Stalwart and proud, the looking glass worked like witchcraft, as it made those distant images quite large and in good quality (despite being a barrel of grogg down). Would pay far more coconuts for something of this amazing quality!

Husband loves it. It was his Christmas gift in December, really glad it was offered at an affordable price! He will enjoy learning how to use it, we live in Appalachian region… lots to look at!

Well made and great gift idea. Hard to focus it in though requires a good bit of toying to get a clear image. Overall I'm pretty satisfied though. Will say that the carrying case seems cheaply made and I'd have probably been happier if it had just come in a pull string velvet bag than the cheap thin leather case. Also it smelled like straight curry powder and there was a weird talc powder like substance all over it. But I wiped it down with a wet wipe and it seemed to take care of it. Anyhow I'm rambling. For the money I'd say it's a decent option for people into pirate memorabilia or cosplay or something of the sort.

I bought this as a gift for my brother in law, I opened it because the box looked like it had been returned/opened multiple times. Big Cons: 1) The storage box the spyglass comes in stinks. 2) The storage box was dirty and I used a slightly damp towel to clean off the dust and the dye/ink came off, lots of it. 3) The magnifiers in the spyglass are in backwards and you can not see anything through them unless you are looking through the wrong end. 4) The metal part of the spyglass looks like it's been scratched from someone trying to adjust the spyglass/magnifiers. I'd return this, but it's too late to do so, but I will encourage my brother in law to do so with the gift receipt and get himself something nicer than this. Positives: NONE
