DESCRIPTION OF RSG12
We are proud to introduce to you the Rockville RSG series of speakers. These are affordable speakers with high-end performance; specially built for DJ's as well as professional audio applications. After conducting strategic market research, Rockville is proud to bring you this new line of speakers that were engineered to combine incredible power handling, superior sound and unbelievable build quality. The goal was to create a line of passive DJ speakers that were double as good as the competition but cost half as much.
The Rockville RSG-12 speaker system features a high quality 12" low frequency woofer with three electronic, high-efficiency piezo bullet tweeters and one high efficiency piezo compression horn tweeter that provide a true full-range of sound. This speaker produces an incredible amount of power. 1000 Watts peak, 750 Watts Program Power, and 500 Watts RMS Power. With 60 Oz magnets, you can be sure these speakers will produce the power you expect out of them.
Constructed using thicker than standard, high-quality, high-density materials our cabinets are strong and rigid yet light weight enough to make travel and set-up a breeze. Built-in ergonomic, recessed handles give these speakers additional carrying ease, for all you DJ's who travel from party to party. The sturdy custom-molded steel grill protects the drivers combined with corner protectors, pre-mounted rubber isolating feet and durable, aviation grade black carpet make our speaker cabinets tough enough to withstand every day abuse.
Engineered from the ground up, the tapered trapezoidal shape, produces wide, clear sound dispersion that will reproduce your program source materials loudly, with accuracy and musical transparency.
Multiple inputs, typically found on high-end speakers are standard equipment on the Rockville RSG-12. Two input connectors, ¼” IN/OUT and speakON connection make the Rockville RSG-12 able to integrate in to any existing amplification system. Additional installation flexibility is available via the reinforced, built-in 35mm pole socket mount located on the underside of the cabinet.

I don't use these for PA, I use then individually with two different Joyo Hybrid Amps. I play at home, don't gig, but one of these with a smaller tube amp is outstanding. Mine is almost too much for the house, but dialing the amp back, I get that big band sound without upsetting the neighbors or my wife. Have two places I practice, one upstairs, one in the basement. They work great. Just remember, if you daisy chain these they go to 4 ohms, a killer for most amps. So glad I got these. Look like PA speakers when you unpack, sound glorious with a medium tube amp.

As an old time Audiophile from the 60's I spend my weekend waking up my neighborhood by pushing my components to the limit!! I have a Marantz power amp with a pre-amp that delivers 400 watts RMS but with the sensitivity of 99db of the Rockvilles I don't need to turn it up that much to be able to get my landlord to hit me with an eviction notice. I exclusively use CDs so I can have 20hz to 20kHz, something non-existent in MP3s or Vinyl. The Speakers deliver an unprecedented performance in the high levels at 22khz but lacks a bit in the lows at 45hz, for that I have a massive sub-woofer that brings it down to 18hz!I've had these speakers for 7 years and although they can't compete with my Sansui SPX-9000, they are a great investment and a pleasant way to rock-the-boat! Highly recommended!

Modified on 31 Aug 2022 - One of the speakers "smoked" while being used for just vocals and the other one quit working completely. So far seller has been responsive and helpful in getting them returned for warranty repair. Not sure I would recommend them at this point since they failed on only their 3rd use. Original review: Used for a weekly outdoor concert series driven by a 1200 watt amp. Sound is crisp and clean and these speakers are much lighter and easier to handle than their predecessors. One of the speakers showed up several days before the 2nd one and I reached out to the seller who provided outstanding response and support. The 2nd speaker arrived with just enough time to test and put to use.

Great speakers, a lot bigger than they look. They have great sound quality bass, and durability. Very much recommended. I have gotten all my lighting, mixers, controllers, and speakers from Rockville. Not one product has disappointed.

Pretty well constructed, very tight sounding. Much heavier than I expected which was nice. Been rocking them out and shaking the house for about 2 months now no issues

I needed speakers that could widely disperse MID's and High's evenly around my "MAN-CAVE" without the directivity issues common with Home speaker systems and I also wanted to have the headroom to be as loud as I wanted without distortion!Anyone that has a surround sound system will know that speaker placement is everything in determining whether you're going to get the jaw dropping experience of "WOW" or "That's okay" experience!The problem in my case was the many set's of various tower speakers I purchased in the past were to directional; meaning, I had to sit exactly dead center of the listening zone!If I moved to a location even so slightly to the left or the right the Mids and Highs were not as distinct or as loud!I needed speakers that could envelope me all around the room regardless of where I was sitting in the room.I needed speakers that could play at high volume levels without distortion and be clear in every detail!These are the Speakers for me! I purchased 2 pair of them; that's right, I ordered 4 Speakers and I am immensely impressed with the sound quality!Now whether I am playing music, movies, or games; everything comes to life with detailed clarity regardless of where I am at within my "MAN-CAVE"!!!!My girlfriend agrees that there is a huge difference and now complains it's too loud!!!(NO MATTER- She has her own place to go to if she doesn't like it and only comes over once a week anyway)The only complaint I have is these speakers didn't have banana plug connectors on the back."So I got my drill, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, a soldering iron, some rosin core solder, a half inch drill bit, 12 inches of 12 Gage speaker wire for each speaker, professional wire strippers, professional butt splice crimper, and 8 butt splices.Then I drilled a hole through the center of the speaker terminal plates, ran the wiring through the holes, created a loop in the wiring to prevent the wiring from pulling out of the plate, soldered the wiring to the connectors internally, screwed the terminal plates back in, then I butt spliced the wiring together from my existing 12 GAGE wiring from my receiver."

Great Powerful speakers for a great price. I am using it with "Rockville 1800w Powered 4 Channel Mixer/Amplifier w USB/EQ/Effects/Phantom (RPM45)" In my opinion it is a perfect combination. This amp supports 8 ohm speaker.

I bought two speakers in September, and used them for 1 event. The second event. they blew up, smoke and everything.
