Review: Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 (5 mm) mil Car Sound Deadening Closed Cell NBR Foam & Heat Insulation MatIf you're looking for a high-quality sound deadening and heat insulation material, the Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 (5 mm) mil Car Sound Deadening Closed Cell NBR Foam & Heat Insulation Mat is an excellent choice. This product is not only effective but also versatile, making it a great addition to any DIY enthusiast's toolkit.Product OverviewThe Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 is a 5 mm thick, closed-cell NBR foam designed primarily for car sound deadening and heat insulation. It comes in a 12 sqft roll, making it easy to handle and apply to various surfaces. The material is dense and flexible, which allows it to conform to different shapes and contours, ensuring a seamless installation.Ease of InstallationOne of the standout features of this product is its ease of installation. The adhesive backing is incredibly sticky and strong, which means it adheres to surfaces without the need for additional bonding agents. This makes the installation process straightforward and efficient. Whether you're working on a car, a home theater, or any other project, the adhesive backing ensures that the material stays in place, reducing the risk of shifting or peeling.PerformanceThe primary purpose of this material is to reduce noise and insulate against heat. In my experience, it performs exceptionally well in both areas. I used it inside a series of small speaker boxes to improve their sound quality, and the results were noticeable. The foam effectively dampened vibrations and minimized unwanted resonance, leading to a cleaner and more balanced sound output. Additionally, it provided a good barrier against heat, which can be particularly useful in environments where temperature control is important.VersatilityWhile the Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 is marketed for car sound deadening, its applications extend far beyond automotive use. The material's flexible nature and strong adhesive make it suitable for a wide range of DIY projects. You can use it to insulate walls, floors, or ceilings in your home, reduce noise in a home studio or office, or even create custom soundproofing solutions for your garage or workshop. Its versatility is one of its most appealing attributes, as it can be adapted to fit various needs and projects.DurabilityThe closed-cell NBR foam is durable and resistant to moisture, which means it can withstand a variety of environmental conditions. This is particularly useful in car interiors, where the material is exposed to humidity, temperature changes, and other factors that can degrade lesser materials over time. The durability of the Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 ensures that it will continue to perform effectively for a long period.Value for MoneyConsidering the quality and performance of this product, it offers excellent value for money. While there are cheaper alternatives available, the Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210's superior adhesive, effective sound deadening, and heat insulation capabilities make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about improving the acoustics and temperature control of their projects.ConclusionOverall, the Roll Pack Rubber Liner 210 (5 mm) mil Car Sound Deadening Closed Cell NBR Foam & Heat Insulation Mat is a highly recommended product. Its ease of installation, effective performance, and versatility make it a valuable addition to any DIY project. Whether you're looking to improve the sound quality of your car's audio system or create a more controlled environment in your home, this material delivers on all fronts. Reasonably dense, strong ahesive, smells like chemicals. Seems to do a nice job of deadening vibrations. Would recommend, especially at this price, good value here.

This worked perfectly in my door panels. It actually made a difference. Very easy to cut to size and install. Great adhesion to the door panel without any issues at all. I can see where this foam with adhesive on one side can have many other uses as well. It's actually pretty inexpensive for what you get.. I would recommend this without a second thought.

I got the 5mm thick rubber liner. I got this to line the inside of pelican cases to keep the contents from banging on the side of the case. Also I combine this on the outside of corrugated foam core to made padded dividers. The sticky adhesive is pretty good and strong. The foam is closed cell made form nitrile butadiene rubber, this makes it very versatile and durable. Also because its closed cell it has a higher R value so it protects from heat and cold better than open cell foam.

This stuff is very durable, great adhesion, and easy to cut. I installed some in my dog's crate which is positioned close to our TV. We were afraid it was too loud in there so he wasn't spending much time until we installed this sound proofing material. Now his crate is his favorite place to relax, whether we're watching TV or not!

I have a Jeep and it is noisy. I had to replace the carpets recently as the old one were getting pretty nasty so I decided to add some sound deadening. I actually used Dynoskin sticky foil sheets and this sound mat together beneath the carpet in certain areas to lower sound and vibrations. It is fairly easy to work with, but it helps to do this on a warm day where you can get this in the sun to get it flat first. I have done these projects before with a variety of insulation and this one was one of the easiesr to work with. The balance is getting something that is thin enough to make it easy to work with that will go under the carpet without being too bulky, but still providing sound and vibration lowering quality. I used scissors to cut the pieces I needed and I didn't make a template as the directions suggested. I only used this on the floors of my Jeep, so in the end, I didn't notice that much noise reduction as now I notice all other rattles from the roof and the doors. I think my vehicle choice for this project was not the best as there is no way to get rid of every rattle in a Jeep, but I did notice less exhaust and drive train noise, so it does work. I have some material left over that I am going to use in my daughters car when I put a subwoofer in for her and I think that will be a much better experience and use for this sound and heat insulator. Dynoskin makes a quality product and I have used their sound deadening stuff for marine applications and it is still holding up years later, so I know it is tough.
