The item is casted out of cast iron thus strong but at the same time being cast iron is brittle thus cannot take impact when dropped or stressed too much. The base being cast iron I expect it to withstand external weather conditions without much issue, though over a period of time the paint will wear off which can be re-painted. Cast iron will rust but not as fast as steel so even when exposed to external elements with the paint off so it will be ok. We are the onset of spring so in a week or two I will be moving this base outside exposed to external weather elements. The rollers can easily be screwed into the casting base, I was not able to completely screw them by hand and on a cautionary note would advise against using any wrench as too much stress would cause the casting to crack. I anticipate the castor screw points to be future point of failure if not handled properly, so care should be taken when placing the heavy pots on it. The listing states the base can withstand 300 lbs. I don't expect I will be hitting this limit even with my heaviest pot with the castors on it. The max I would go would be 100-150lbs.Overall, the construction is strong and if handled properly I expect it to last.

I liked feeling this was very heavy. Not too heavy where you can't move it but not to weak where it falls over and breaks. It holds my plants well and I'm able to easily push them around the room.

This plant stand replaced the stool under my lemon tree. The construction appears to be sturdy, so no issues whatsoever. And considering the price, it looks like a great bargain.

Heavy duty and very easy to assemble, loved the design of the plant stand.Very sturdy and looks like rust free. Weight is good too.

The construction is sturdy and will hold mid-size pots with ease. The wheels have a little softness to them, so I do not think they will scratch a hardwood floor where one of ours is used; We are using the second one outdoors. There was one small mar in the finish on the bottom of the stand which resulted from pieces bouncing around in the box during shipment. This could easily be touched up with a little black paint.The assembly should be easy with you just needing to screw in the wheels. The problem as another reviewer commented is that unless you have a super thin wrench, you will not be able to easily tighten the nut because of interference with the base of the stand. I would have also liked it better if the thread was shorter, or the base foot longer so that the nut would get tightened to the bottom of the foot instead of leaving some exposed threads.Locks on the wheels keep the stand in one place. I found the locks a little difficult to engage and disengage.

These plant stands are easy to assemble and work great. The wheels glide with ease. The pattern on the stand is also very nice. Will buy again

I only received one wheel for two plates.Each plate requires three wheels.
