A snap shakle that doesn't. This type of shackle should close simply by squeezing the gate closed. The ones shipped to me do not because the pin is too long. I specifically looked for Ronstan as they seem to be popular but this sucks.

Much sturdier and longer-lasting than the leather lanyards that fit the same size rings. Worth the price.

I had used these on my sailboat for ease of releasing shackles, but I boat no longer. I got these to replace a broken zipper tang on my luggage. Perfect!

Replaced a couple of like items that had broken due to weathering (outside for a couple of years is expected life). Quick delivery and just what I thought I'd get. Probably will buy again in a few years. (Too lazy to do the knot-tying myself, though I know how. Cheaper to let Ronstan do it!)
