Our builder installed the wrong type of frame around our door, which is designed wrongly. Every time we open and close the door, the locking mechanism would scrape the paint along the way. This scrape plate does the job, Works nicely and looks good.

I had to replace my door and frame to the pantry and it required a 6 inch jamb. I didn’t want to spend the extra $250 and just bought a prehung door with a 4 inch jamb. After adding a filler piece and door trim, I needed a 4 1/4†strike plate. This one is 4 1/2†and it works just fine. Easy to install. Fixes my problem. Good quality. Recommend.

We reno'd a very old house (over 100 years old) recently and found that modern insulated doors don't fit very well in the original door openings. The doors fit flush to the outside of the house but there's a pretty good gap between the inside wall and the door frame. As a result, there's around a 4 inch distance between the casing of the door and the inside wall. And the door latch rubs across the wood casing before getting to the door strike plate. And, over time, a nice skid mark shows up on the wood frame. Not good. This is the second of of these strike plates I've purchased because both outside doors have the same issue. Honestly, it doesn't look too bad and it definitely saves the wood frame from getting eaten up by having the door latch constantly rubbing against it whenever you open and close the door. Very easy to install (2 of the 4 screws will go into the existing holes). On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the hardest install, this is probably around a 2.Save the door frames! - because everyone needs a worthy cause.

I didn't even know such an item was necessary until a new door was installed. The latch hit the inside frame because the new door was set deeply into the opening.So, this little device does the trick.Why only four stars....? I wish they offered an option of a deadbolt/latch combination. The latch now sits under the deadbolt plate. It would be nice to have single plate with two openings

This product is exactly what we need to finished one of our bedroom doors we have a prefab hime and the one door where the two sides meet is extra thick. This stone plate fit perfectly and super easy to install! It’s pricy but this is the. EST price I could find for something that’s custom!
