Sure you could just make a box out of plywood, but this one is heavy gauge steel with an ample door on a solid hinge. Works great

Seems a bit expensive for what it is, but it installs easy enough and seems to work well.

Good quality product, directions to assemble and install are good and accurate. Works well and provides ability to control suction level. Better than a lot of Rockler products.

Beware. This dust collector will not fit a Kreg router table.

Flexible configurations due to how it goes together. Easy to put together. Doesn't fit well over plunge type routers unless you make a spacer. Does not include the 2 1/2" hose. For the price, this is really a nice product that performs well. Very little dust and chips get away from the dust collection on my Kreg router table now!
