I suppose if I was installing this on a fence, i wouldn't care about the grommets on the "top" and "bottom" being equally spaced. I can even see how that might even help prevent the wind from putting too much pressure on the grommets. However, I actually wanted this for the side of my front porch, which is 7 feet wide, so technically I've installed this sunshade sideways, and the fact that the grommets aren't evenly spaced between the two 8 foot sides has made attaching the sunshade to the existing hooks I installed on my porch a little awkward.Fortunately, I was able to make it work, and so far it's been great, including on some pretty windy days. It lets through enough light to keep the porch shaded but not dark, and enough air to feel a slight breeze when standing in front of it. It's the closest I could get to what I wanted without spending an exorbitant amount of money (and some of the expensive sunshades designed for this application, which did not come in the size I needed, noted that the grommets were "approximately" placed a certain distance apart.So in all likelihood, I will be purchasing the same product in the next year or two when the existing canvas curtain on the other side of the porch eventually wears out.

I ordered this as a screen I could hang above my garden to protect the plants from the sun. The summers have been growing in heat intensity and the soil is an ongoing process not fully ready to support my garden during a drought & it’s all I can do to keep my garden alive. This screen is doing its job but it’s a bit too light restricting for constant use so it only goes up for heat spells. It was designed for fencing or visibility issues & it would be perfect for that application. Strong reinforcements along the perimeter & nice grommets for physical connections. I use carabiners to connect to eye hooks for ease installing & take down. Overall it’s a good product.

Good privacy. I would get longer zip ties, as I felt the ones included were a tad small.

Great price for this product. Worked well to screen in our covered deck. Breaks the wind but still will let some light through.
