About this item

  • OBVIOUSLY IMPROVED-Adding the boat rudder to your boat trolling motor made the trolling motor more stable as trolling motors are known for lack of steering especially when the big wind picks up. With trolling motor stabilizer, even in the big wind, the direction is in your own hand, don't worry rudder out of control any more.
  • WIDELY USE FOR-Our kayak rudder kit measures 10.5" high x 4.75" wide and suitable for a 23-32MM" shaft diameter which is boat rudder clamp compatible with most 24-55lb transom mount trolling motors. It's commonly used for motorguide trolling motors, minn kota trolling motor, newport vessel trolling motor, etc. Designed for kayak, canoe, seayak, angling boat, etc.
  • PREMIUM MATERIAL-The body of our trolling motor accessories is made from PA66GF30 which is a new and premium material, it can last long time. And the screws are made from SU304 which is one kind of anti-rust and resistant to hydrochloric acid corrosion material, so you could use it in the seawater.
  • EASY INSTALL-Very easy to install, with screws, you could install our trolling motor mount to trolling motor only a few minutes.
  • EASY USE-It can be used when it is installed in the boat trolling motors, and it is easy to operate without any operation skills. Because the rudder accessories let you keep you on the right way and let you reduce wind resistance, so your trolling motor battery lasted longer.

Likes- Stepless feature is great a provided a smooth transition in speeds. All trolling motors should be made this way. Very light weight. Short shaft works very good on transom mounted Jonny Boat Bass 100.Dislikes- the distance between forward and reverse is too close and sometimes hard to get in the stopped position. The mount appears to be a little light for a 90lb thrust motor. The mount is smaller than on my 30lb Minn Kota, but has not caused any problems yet. The motor is a little noisier than my Minn Kotas or Newports, but that has helped me know when the motor is not in the stopped position. No significant speed difference over my 62lb thrust Newport and this 90lb, and no noticed increase between the 7 and 9 settings on the motor. However overall it has performed well and would buy again if it continues to perform well and has longevity.

The clamps do not even come close to fitting over the shaft, no way you’re packing rubber in between the two either. This is made for 1980’s trolling motors with really small diameter shafts. I’d bet any guy who went out and bought longer bolts to make this work- has yet to realize how off center the fin is to the actual shaft. This is a trash product if you have a newer trolling motor. I will be returning this.

A house I rented on holiday had a 15’ canoe; someone made a trolling motor mount using 2”x4”s at one end of the canoe. I didn’t want to have to keep reaching behind me to work my trolling motor that I brought with me and attached to the canoe, so I got a plastic lawn chair, cut the legs to make it more stable, and sat facing the motor. This setup, essentially, put me at the front of the canoe which meant the “back end” would fishtail or swing freely any time I turned. I attached this rudder to a piece of metal, electrical conduit (no flex like pvc) and the canoe tracked straight after that! It withstood numerous beachings without cracking or breaking. I am glad I bought it and highly recommend it.

The material appears sufficiently rigid. However, the rubber gaskets that come with it are too long to wrap around the tube; they need to be placed vertically, and only one can be used because the screws it comes with, are too short to fit both, one on each side. And if it's installed without these gaskets, it doesn't hold securely enough to control the motor. In summary, it needs longer screws, at least 3 mm longer, and shorter seals. Other than that, everything is fine."

For great on my MinnKota electric motor and was an easy install. Took it out and tested it this weekend and I definitely could feel a difference even without the motor running and drifting a-crossed the lake I could feel and see the difference with steering. 10/10 definitely recommend.

One problem with an electric trolling motor is keeping the boat straight especially when it’s windy.I installed the rudder prior to my last fishing trip.I was blown away not only did it keep the boat straight the amount of movement was very minor, it reduced the overall power consumption.Just an awesome device.
