Maybe not the best kit for the hardcore off-road enthusiast, but if you're that into the hobby you'd probably be willing to spend more.This kit is definitely perfect for occasional and emergency use, great compliment to any winch around 9-10 thousand pounds.Only complaints are that the bag is SMALL (get a bigger bag if you plan on complimenting this kit with other recovery tools) and that the gloves are cheaply made. Though the gloves are cheap they would protect your hands during occasional use but are not going to last forever.I recommend this kit to hunters, campers, occasional off-roaders, and all those subject to inclement road/weather conditions.

I purchased this "kit" because pricing the items individually made it more than the kit. I didn't really care about the work gloves or line dampener, but Ill address those two items first:Work Gloves : You can not pick the size of the glove and it appears that Rugged Ridge places size large in the kit. I wear a medium glove and these are slightly to large, but still wearable. The quality of the glove is rather poor. I didn't expect top shelf, but they are very thin. Any "heavy duty" use and these gloves are going to come apart.Line Dampener: This item comes empty and is nothing more than a thin plastic bag with two pouches sewn on to it. It states to fill each pocket with 5lbs to give the bag weight. As I believe in safe winching practices, this would be good to fill with sand and have sewn shut, but there is no way to do this. You could use dirt/rocks from the trail to accomplish this, but as thin as it is, Im afraid it would rip. Seek other options.D-rings: There are two, 3/4" d-rings included with this kit. The are rated to 9500lbs and are galvanized gray in color. They work like they're supposed to. No complaints. You should buy more d-rings, however, as two just aren't enough for the trail.Snatch block: The included block is pretty nice. It performs as expected and does it well.Tree strap: It may seem a bit "small" to some at 6', but I have had no troubles in the Southern part of the country in it's length. Someone suggested it should be at least 10' in length, but 6' has been plenty for me, 10 would've been to long to be effective. Stitching is ok, not great, but up to par for price point.Recovery Strap: This is a good length unless you're in a tight spot. Has adequate "flex" and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Stitching seems ok for the price point. It's also up to par on the industry standard in pulling capacity (for casual off roaders, not competition off roaders).Storage Bag: Definitely a weak link, but works. Im able to store all of the items plus extra d-rings in the bag. The zipper on the back is extremely frail, but mine hasn't broke (yet). Be careful with it though, as it just "feels" like looking at the zipper wrong will cause it to bust.I have used these items on the trail a couple of times. It did what it was supposed to and that's what mattered. I am not disappointed in my purchase, especially for the price point. Items made by others cost significantly more (but also of much better quality), so for the price point its good. I would buy again and recommend this item to the casual off roader, not the competition sort.

Wow. What a great deal this is. A terrific starter set for the newbie. It has almost everything you'd need, even some decent work gloves. The quality of the straps and attachments is very good, a step below Warn or ARB, but perfect for the occasional/emergency user. I have used mine about 20 times now and although warn and dirty the gear is in good usable shape. Oh, and they throw in a nice durable bag to store it all in. As close to perfect as it gets!

I don`t know what people are complaining about, this kit is a great value. Yeah, the gloves aren`t the best but they work fine. The bag is small but I had no problem fitting everything in it. I read someone`s review saying the zipper on the bag broke, I just think they dont`t know how to properly operate a zipper. I just used the entire kit this weekend multiple times because the trail was flooded. Everything worked flawlessly. I would totally recommend this kit to anyone.

I bought this mainly for the snatch block and the tree wrap and extension. The snatch block by itself is worth most of the kit. I didn't need the bag, gloves, or the dampener. The dampener is really just a flimsy plastic item with two pouches that says to fill it with at least 5 pounds of something. i say get a grocery bag and fill it with sand and you have the same thing... definitely not worth the $20 it's valued at by itself.the snatch block, shackles (3/4") recovery strap and tree truck protector look to be of good quality and look like they can take the abuse.

Purchased this as it was a relatively affordable kit that included everything I needed. The contents are of such poor quality though that it's essentially useless. The snatch block I received was broken, the bag was ripping apart before I even used it, the gloves are too thin to be useful and the rope dampener is too flimsy to hold any weight substantial enough to protect the user.The tow rope was not included in the package at all and 4 months later Rugged Ridge / Omix has still been unable to send me a replacement. The tree saver and d rings do seem decent enough quality for what it's worth.Collectively, I wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on this and would have just purchased quality items separately.

The equipment is great, all heavy duty and of good quaility. The only downfall is the bag. Cheap zipper broke on the third time it was used and bag is very small, no extra room at all - not even for the winch remote. I have a ton a Rugged Ridge stuff and happy with it all.

Haven’t had opportunity to use yet but general overview is ok quality gloves are garbage and carry case won’t stand up to use at all. I’m currently using the bag but expect the zipper to tear off and handles to tear don’t waste your time with the gloves or bag.
