I like the Rutland brand. I haven't fired these up in the fireplace yet, but I'm sure they'll help loosen up creosote so I can get a good clean from the chimney brush.They arrived a bit smashed. They are smaller than the more recognizable creosote log.Keep in mind, these are not intended to replace a chimney cleaning. They help to minimize creosote buildup by converting it to ash. How often you use it, what kind of wood you burn, the moisture content of that wood - all of that dictates how much build-up you may have in your chimney. Regular use of this type of creosote reducer during your burn season helps to maintain a safer chimney.Slightly off topic: Rutland fireplace glass cleaner is the best. It also does a decent job on my stove top.

Works to make creasote dry up and easier to remove. It works as described, would buy again!

Tried this brand for value; used 2 applications so far this winter. Much denser and heavier than other brands? Hope it works just as well as other brands? I use a log every 2 wks in deep winter when I am burning a fire every day to prevent build up and prevent a chimney fire.

I burn a lot of fires this time of year and I have tried different Creosote cleaning logs and this one worked the best. The price was great and I love that it came with 2 logs. I highly recommend and I learned something - I did not know that when I burn a creosote log, that I should close the front doors! This makes sense to me and this first time wood burning chimney user appreciates the lesson!
