Like,Housing is well made, the two pieces fit together very nicely, plastic is ridged but feels like it can stand up to some rough handling. The term waterproof would be an over statement but seals nicely and should handle my use as the replacement end on my 50amp Motorhome power cord. I really like the 3 finger holes for the task of unplugging , wow is it ever Easy!On the inside all 4 posts are heavy duty and the wire connections are very positive (as they should be ) and they are well separated when assembled. The cable clamp is very good! I love that you can secure it before you close the case, great design !It You actually Read and Follow all of the dimensions in Fig.1 then you should be able to connect all the wires snuggly and then slide them into place and then tighten them to the proper torque as in Fig. 2. Pay attention to how the Green wire is prepared for placing into the connector, it is the best way to secure a single wire to a washered post. When you reassemble the shell tighten the screws carefully so you don’t strip the plastic threads and then I don’t believe you will ever have to do this job again! If you believe you need a bit more protection from the rain, then you could go around the shell joint with a piece of tape, go from cord inlet around to cord inlet, do not stretch the tape as you go or it will surly shrink and pull away.I used this plug to replace my original molded on plug because the heavy outer rubber cord cover had cracked and pulled away from the plug nearly an inch, and I just didn’t want the wire exposed like.I like this cord end so much, I will be telling anyone who asks how great it is!!!

Bought a few more of these as this is a very nice plug end, poles are labeled with wire color codes and the plastic is tuff and well made, the pull ring on the back is large and overall a great replacement at a great price.

Plug seems well made. Instructions with wire length measurements made assembling easy. I used this to create a 50 amp extension and it went together well with 6 guage cable. The clamp and the housing accepted the thick cable and outer jacket perfectly.

I picked up this plug to make up a 50 amp cord to go from the generator to the transfer switch on my house.I'm a master electrician and have done this type of work for years, so know you're going to get a good honest review from someone that truly knows about electrical. This plug was easy to make up, but like others have stated, I'd worry about putting a constant 50 amps through it. The screws can break the fine copper strands if you go TOO tight or if you don't strip and place the wire correctly. Getting your cord properly secured in the strain relief to prevent cable and wire movement is CRUCIAL. You should NOT be able to turn or move your cord once the strain relief is tightened. If you can, that will eventually cause the copper strands and screws to relax and cause a loose connection. That in turn will cause serious heat and can and will melt the plastic case of this plug.My generator is only rated for 12,500 peak watts or 52 amps, which is power my house would never pull. I'd have to put a ton of stuff on to get close to that amount of power. I just needed a generator that had the 50 amp capability since 30 amps is not enough for my setup. I have a well pump that has a high startup current draw and high running draw. So having that on with say my fridge and micro, is definitely over 30 amps.If all your going to use is between 30-40 amps like me, then this will do just fine. The case itself isn't as hard or thick as I'd like it to be either. You can easily squeeze it and see the plastic flex. I did drop it by mistake and it didn't shatter, so that's a plus. Other than that, it seems pretty decent. This is definitely better than the tiny cheaper chinese plugs that come with the junk generators, but it's definitely not generac or leviton quality.I still do recommend it, as long as you're not constantly pulling 50 amps or more.

I used this to create a 220V extension cord for EV charging, and it worked perfectly. The build quality feels solid, and the disconnect handle makes it easier to use safely. If you’re looking to set up an extension for EV charging or similar high-power needs, this plug is a reliable choice.

Much stronger than their Home Depot competitor. Plato s is more dense, and the prongs fit in the house better. Little bit more expensive, but worth it.

Not much to say. I needed a plug-in, and this product fit the bill. Cutting off the power cord and attaching the plug-in was fairly simple. Instructions were included with lengths for cutting and lengths for stripping. If you follow the instructions, you'll have a cord with a new plug-in. Yes, I recommend this product.

Cheap but will do in a pinch. Website gave the indication it was real rubber material, it’s just hard plastic and would definitely not work well in cold/freezing climates, would probably break
