Cant tell the difference visually from the original that came with the car. Its used to support the hood when you open it

Very, very stiff. Would open hood about 10 inches them stop, stick and continue. Very hard to lift. I saw this in other reviews and took a chance.UPDATE: If you install this rod side down (like Stabilus recommends, but opposite of Audi's installation) it works perfectly, like an OEM strut. Very strange.
