I use this for melt & pour soap. It holds a lot. I get 7 standard size soaps from this. I would not put this directly on a burner. It is certainly not wide enough at the bottom for my gas burner & I think the handle might not hold up. I just use one of my pots filled with an appropriate amount of water & put the melting pot in it - making a double boiler. Works perfectly & I love the handle for pouring the melted soap in the mold. I don't make soap to sell so I only make small amounts at a time. Glad I bought this melting pot. If you sell your soap, you might need a larger melting pot to make more at one time.

Don’t hang the handle over the pot. It will catch fire and/or melt.

I bought this for my first DYI soap project. It didn't work on the portable induction oven for some reason. I think the portable induction stove had difficulty reading the pot. I am guessing the pot was too light/small for the portable induction stove. However, it worked fine on my home induction stove. I love the grip of the handle, pointed dripless pouring and the size of the pot. It is perfect for making soap for your family and friends.Pros: easy to pour, good grip/handle, good size for home projectsCons: didn't work on portable induction oven (not sure why)

Every bit worth the money. Everything very nice that comes with the kit. The melting pot is nice. The handle keeps you from getting burned and keeps it from tilting in the double boiler. Nice pot holder included as well.
