I know many other reviews addressed some complaints how it leaves a dot on the surface you stick it on. Personally, I could careless because it does what it intends to do, locks things -in my case, the toilet, where we dont want our little ones to get into. I think it is expected that this would leave some kind of sticky gunk or whatever from the surface it was put on, well, its adhesive- how else do you expect to put it on. Better than other stuff that needs to be screwed on! Its better alternative I believe than having a permanent hole on in your stuff. I love this because for ADHESIVE based locks, it works pretty damn good compared to other ones I've tried that also poses a risk in trusting products to help keep our children safe. I use this for our toilet and it still holding up on the toilet outer rim. I would suggest though that if you do this, stick the lock part on the rim instead of the other piece w/ the strap. Because I stuck the strap piece on the rim and it tend to fold into the toilet seat. And since its hard to get off, I'm kinda stuck with it that way till I completely replace the whole thing. I just wish it came with extra adhesive stuff so it can be used more than one time after being taken off from first usage. You want to keep your children safe, this will definitely work as long as you clean and dry surface before sticking it on.

We're in a rental community and our landlords wouldn't permit us to drill any holes in the cabinets or doors. So to childproof our home we tried these inexpensive Safety 1st straps. We found that they stick extremely well to walls, wooden surfaces and kitchen appliances. The installation is effortless and should only take a few minutes, but you should allow plenty of time afterwards for the glue to firmly set. Once fixed, its very easy for an adult to lock and unlock the strap even with just one hand. But its sophisticated enough to prevent your little one from opening it. My daughter was fascinated at first and got a little frustrated that she could no longer get into the cabinets, but after a couple of days she lost interest altogether and no longer tries to open anything that's locked with these straps. We've been using these straps for almost three months now and haven't encountered any problems. They're very strong and durable. A great investment.

I bought this to keep my toddler out of the cabinets, and it works great. Very easy to install and use.

I bought these Safety 1st straps to use on anything that my toddler boys could open. They are so easy to install (adhere). The adhesive is very strong. These worked great and kept the monsters at bay! I used these on the toilet, stove, medicine cabinet, dresser drawers, fish tank, a safety gate that could open with sticky toddler hands, and some kitchen cabinets. Eventually I could remove most because my kids learned that these places are no longer fun and it hasn't been an issue since. So they worked as an easy training device too.I have a few complaints. First you need to be very sure where you want to place these. Once placed you can't change your mind and move them because it will tear the sticky off and not be usable again (once and done type of product). Once in place these are there for the long run. You will need rubbing alcohol mixed with water and a gentle scrubber to get the residue off. Be cautious of what surface these are used on. One I used was connected to a kitchen wall and it took paint chips off with it. I also had a couple break. The plastic strap broke early into use so I had to replace them. These were used on the kitchen cabinets which were opened often so maybe the wear and tear was too much. They are cheap so I always had a few extras on hand. These complaints are minor because the product worked and I don't think there is any perfect solution so 4 of 5 stars.Shipped fast, arrived on time, packaged well.

Works well to secure our trash can lid, from the little sensory seeking 19 month old. Definitely recommend!

We used this for our refrigerator door. My husband and I can't stand it. It was kind of annoying to install. Once it was on, I think it worked for a few days, maybe, then after that it just falls apart all the time. The strap is pretty stiff, not really flexible. The latch is tough to open and close, which is supposed to be, but we just find it cumbersome, it is hard to grip, squeeze, and release it, the act is almost painful on my fingers. Because the strap is stiff, and the latch is effortful, the whole contraption just falls apart in our hands all the time. Constantly have to reassemble after almost every use. We just gave up. Now we just have the latches stuck to the fridge and the strap is just floating about our kitchen somewhere. Maybe if the strap was permanently attached to one of the latch pieces, instead of having three separate pieces (and able to adjust length differently for installation), and if the release buttons were not so strenuous and demanding, it would be better, but the way it is does not work for us. Oh well, at least it was rather inexpensive!

We have an upright freezer & the door seal needs a little encouragement to stay closed. Was hoping this device would do the trick as we had an older model on our clothes washer utility drawer years ago & it was strong. Disappointed in this new model. Install was easy, cleaned surfaces & let them dry. Stuck the parts 1 & 2 on where we wanted them & let them sit overnight to let the glue set. Next day connected the band & within the day part 2 separated from its sticky base pad! The pad stayed on the freezer, but came off the part. Noticed the bottom of part 2 is not solid surface, but a lattice work of plastic, probably to keep costs down. Unfortunately this also means less surface for the pad to stick to! Also the locking part is not as smooth as the old one, this one feels more rough to insert and remove.

Já comprei muitas travas e essa foi a única durável. A primeira vez que comprei foi há cinco anos e elas estão na estante até hoje e meu filho nunca conseguiu abrir as gavetas .

I haven't tried to remove them so I don't know if they'll leave a mark, but honestly if they do it will all be worth it. These locks gave up peace of mind with our toddlers, we used them on doors and appliances so far and they work great. They are strong enough that my three years old can't open the doors and the switch is small enough that he still doesn't have the manual precision to pull them open

This is the strongest safety ever. Only this one can win against my kids, but be careful since it can damage your wall due to its stickiness

Easy to install and the best one available in the market. I’ve bought cheaper ones but this surpasses all in terms of longevity and ease of usage .
