I use these for the live wells in my fishing boat. Both on the intake and also on the overflow outlet. I place a bead of silicone around the base of the strainer and "stick" it onto the side of the live well covering the outlet hole. This prevents fish from sitting against the hole and preventing the water from exiting the overflow while I have the wells filling. No more overflowing live wells filling my bilge area..

I’ve been using this for my garden irrigation system suction hose . Works fine to keep debri away from pump impeller, doesn’t seem to affect pump flow. thread fits standard garden hose fitting , yes I recommend this strainer.
