Installation Step
- Loosen the hex screw with a hex key

Recently I have done a lot of work with 304 stainless steel. I ripped apart two old Viking stainless steel grills and built one out of the best parts from each grill. It looks like the day it was built. I drilled a lot of holes in the stainless and even the best drill bits didn’t last long. On another project I needed to cut a 2†hole in 3mm 304 stainless. I was both apprehensive and skeptical that this hole saw could do it. Much to my amazement and satisfaction this hole saw did exactly that. It doesn’t cut threw like butter but with a little time and attention the job was completed and done to perfection. Not sure how many holes it would cut or how long it might work continuously on SS but I was super excited and extremely happy with my result. I did not use cutting oil or a lubricant so not sure if that would have made a difference or prolonged the life of the teeth. Highly satisfied.

I needed some 3" discs as sacrificial support for a faceplate when turning bowls. The 3 5/16" diameter turned out to be the perfect size to leave a 3" disc behind. I was using 3/4" thick pine and it cut through that quite easily. After cutting a dozen discs the saw still looks like it's brand new! Excellent value for the money, looks to be well made.The sawdust gullets are too small for such a saw - if there is wood all the way around the hole then you will need to pull the saw out frequently to clear them. If they are not cleared, then the saw just burns the wood and does nothing else. In some cases you may need to use a screwdriver, awl, nail, whatever, to clean out the gullets. It's easy to do this. In my case, since I didn't care about the hole - only the disc left behind - I just made sure that my cut overlapped the edge of the wood and the sawdust could be ejected from the side.I used a drill press with a fence to make my cuts - the best way to use this saw. The kerf is certainly large enough to be able to hand hold a drill without the saw binding all the time. But the 3+ inch saw I purchased exerts a lot of leverage against the wood so I would be reluctant to try and hand hold it for fear of hurting my wrists.

I just wanted to let the amazon shoppers know that I needed to cut a 2" hole in 5/16" thick 316 stainless steel plate. I had bought the best harbor freight hole saw kit and it did hardly anything. I bought two other bi-metal hole saws from the "depot", and they failed miserably. I took a chance on this carbide tipped 2" hole saw, which was less money than any of the others, and I am ecstatic to say, that I was able to cut the hole. I used a drill press on second lowest speed, and kept spraying water on the steel to keep it from over heating. It did take some time, but I got through it and the hole is clean. The hole saw still looks and feels sharp. I was so pleased, that I hurried to place this 5 star review, and also my respects to amazon for one day delivery. Great product, for sure.

I needed to change the bore size in a steel door from 1-1/2" to 2-1/8". I tried several different methods using so called bi-metal hole saw bits from different common manufacturers that all claimed to be the best and the toughest. They all failed miserably! Even the one I had used to bore a new hole in a steel door before. I was about to break down and buy a $55.00 metal bit from one of the big box stores when I found this one online. I was skeptical because of the low price but after reading the reviews I was hopeful and for just $14.00 I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did. This thing didn't even give the door a chance to fight back! It bit right in and made short work of the job. I will keep this in my toolbox and never worry about boring a steel door again. Worth every penny!

I'm using this on an old 1 hp Bridgeport as an annular cutter - no pilot drill. Made 12 holes through 1/4-inch steel plate - no broken or dulled teeth. There is a tendency to grab due to the rake and clearance angles that are probably intended for wood- light pressure worked well. If cutting more than a 32nd or so deep, you have peck drill (pull out to remove chips). Follow recommended rpms.

To be honest I didn’t expect much due to low price so bought 2 @ 20mm. You could buy 20 of these for the price of a single WNT equivalent.I was throughly surprised by how well it performs. So far it’s drilled 88 holes in 3mm 316 stainless, 20 holes in 10mm mild steel plate & 30+ in 5mm alu check, still on the first cutter!Started with High speed for the initial pilot bit followed by low rpm for the actual hole. Kept the bit Flooded with coolant. Holes have been made using drill press or hand drill. I can’t complain for the price. It does drill around 1 mm over which if task is precise I’d recommend 1mm smaller. This didn’t bother me for the jobs I had to do. Overall cuts clean, fast and is durable across a range of materials. Real good value for money.

This hole cutter wasn’t bad value cost wise , but once I used it I realised it really was a fab quality cutter , no wandering off , flipped the piece over and finished the cut from underneath and it lined up perfectly .It’s surprising how many cheaper and some more expensive hole cutters leave you needing a file to clean the centre so I highly recommend this brand .
