My boat did not have a meter at the helm for the house battery bank and I wanted to know it was being charged while underway. This meter was the perfect solution. Looks high-quality and matches the other OEM gauges well. Watertight body and has a great feature to program the backlighting to different colors with a push button. Great value for the price. Be sure to use a 52mm hole saw. I recommend this one:

i added some additional electronics to my vehicle and wanted a way to keep an eye on battery charge. this was it! i wired it in a mount beneath my climate control, and used the constant 12v source from the radio - the guage is always displaying the voltage, even when the car is off. this was intentionally wired this way. it does not drain the battery. ive connected the illumination wire to the illumination wire on the radio. works as inteded, lights up with parking/head lights and turns off with them. beautiful

The instructions are a little confusing but manageable for the installation and setting up of the unit for your particular use.

Returned and bought something else cheaper on another website. I was expecting something smaller and multiple devices.
