Vey thick sponge and works well for shaping before sanding is necessary. I like the coarse variety of grits available. I was able to get quite a bit of shaping with a single sponge.

I have a 3M sanding block that came with an 80 grit pad. I bought these to replace the now worn out pad and give myself more versatility with different grits. Many users say they are great and time will tell. They do seem to work in my 3M block, however, they are just a bit short. I doubt it will make a difference and look forward to trying them out.

These work as well as the vastly more expensive one from my local hardware store. I used the 220 grit to sand and finish sheetrock and it gave the plaster a smooth finish. The larger grit is great for sanding wood and metal too.

The kit arrived as described and they work decently enough. I have found that they don't last as long as the name brand blocks I've had, but they're also a lot cheaper. They can catch and tear on corners and such, so keep that in mind.Fairly good to have on hand through, and I've been able to extend their life by cleaning them.
