Nice assortment of grits. Thinner than other sponges I use, but that makes them better for detail work.

My son and I do some hobby painting of old (and newer) automobiles. These sponge pad sanding pads are good for block sanding and prepping body filler and paint primer for final color coats. The sponge backing is thinner than professional sanding blocks so we've learned to use backing blocks (wood, rubber, plastic or firmer sponges). We tack glue or sometimes just hold the backer blocks in place by hand. They work quite well for hobby level painting and finishing and hold up adequately.

I have been using similar sanding sponges from a well-known manufacturer that cost 58% more than these sanding sponges. With the other brand, I cannot purchase an assortment, and instead have to purchase multiple boxes of sponges if I want different grits. I've been looking for an alternative, and these S&F sponges fit the bill.I love the dimensions of these sponges, as I always found myself cutting the other brand's sponges in half. These sponges are half the size, so I don't have to cut anything. I find that I get more use out of the smaller size as I use every part of the surface. These sponges are slightly thicker than the ones I'm used to, but I still find them pliable enough to sand small, curved surfaces.I appreciate having a variety of grits so I may start with the larger grit and work my way to the smaller grit, achieving a perfectly sanded surface.I use sanding sponges daily to finish my 3D printed goods, so I'm stoked to have found these sponges that are more affordable and better suited for my needs.

This set of sanding sponges worked great for sanding cabinets smooth before painting. It was a lot of work, but these set held up great. The different coarse grades removed material really well. They work great wet or dry. The price is way more affordable than you'd find from the local hardware store. You can't go wrong with these.

Nice set of sanding sponges. They have a thin sponge on one side and the sand paper on the other. The sponge gives it enough structure to hold easily and cushion it a little bit. They stay together well when using.

I use these in the machine shop when I want a really nice finish on parts. The sponge backing allows the abrasive pad to form to the shape of the part. I use them wet with a little bit of detergent. They will clog up right away if you try to use them dry. Good assortment of different grits.

I used them to sand some of my polymer clay pieces and so far so good. I specifically needed the higher grit and it works great. They have great flexibility due to the sponge at the back which also provides safety. I will be buying again in the future when I run out.

Seems great so far - they've been excellent for cleaning up some of my welded furniture. My partner's also been using these to sand glass, and it's working for that. So far so good.
