I bought my first computer in 1978. 256K of memory. So the fact that this TINY device holds 20 million times the information is amazing . But I warn you now, if you have big banana hands like me, you’re going to drop this little thing multiple times. My thumbnail is bigger. It is fast, loads instantly and a great deal for the money.

I bought it for my laptop, to cache my steam game content off of my hard drive.Pros: large drive, super small profile (so you don’t need to remove it) and reasonably good transfer rateCons: it worked well for games that didn’t require loading super high Content really quickly. But, when transitioning through medium to high quality “open world” style textures and content, It was a little laggy and I had too many lag deaths. This only happened on 1/4 of my games.So, my solution was to move the content back-and-forth from my hard drive to the removable drive for those games that require a little more speed on their transfer rate. A minor inconvenience, but on the whole, it has satisfied my ability to load 400 GB of games, and have them available on my gaming laptop.All in all good drive, maybe my expectations were too lofty.

These seemed like a great value, and I love how small and innocuous they are, but they are made of really thin plastic and seem like they could very easily break. I did see others saying that their broke, but I will say that I've never had one break, although I haven't given them very heavy use either. The feel like they will break though. The other problem is the heat. With such a small size, these can get REALLY hot when you are reading or writing to them. I've never had one melt or burn, but others users reported this. So I guess I would say that my experience has been fine so far, but I'm still worried that they might burn or break.

I purchased the USB in February 2019 and it failed in Nov 2019, ten months hmmm. From new it required far more pressure to insert then my other USB drives and the housing became noticeably warm when in use. At that point, I should have sent it back but instead dismissed it as the consequence of its small architecture and poor manufacturing tolerances. After less than fifty applications the housing broke but more annoying the stored data became unrecoverable. I have several full size SanDisk and other maker USB drives and none have exhibited the above noted concerns or failures. Unfortunately four days ago my wife purchased the SanDisk 256 model and it also requires more insertion force than should be required, foreshadowing dear reader. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely not. Will I continue future Sandisk purchases? Probably, but not their miniature series. SanDisk, if you wish to offer me recompense, I will gladly include your response as an appendix to my review.Cheers EUpdate: Nov 25, 2019The day after submitting my Amazon review I contacted the SanDisk warranty department by email requesting recompense as the USB was less than 5 years old. I provided them a copy of my Amazon purchase order and the next day I received a follow-up email from SanDisk® Global Customer Care stating SanDisk did not have a 128gb replacement in stock (in the warehouse) but would I settle for two 64gb instead to which I replied, yes. Within a day or two I received another SanDisk email this time different in tone. It referenced my Amazon.com review and included the following highlighted in blue, "Note: Refurbished, physically damaged or non-authentic products are not covered by SanDisk warranty". The email also included an RMA (Return to Merchant Authorization) but no mention of the previous replacement offer.So what happened, a SanDisk employee armed with my Amazon purchase receipt trolled the Amazon.com website and located my review. Upon reading it they identified I had mentioned the USB casing had broken and presto SanDisk feels the warranty claim is disqualified, hence the blue highlighted script. To appear as a good corporate citizen they now offer me an RMA (Return to Manufacturer Authorization) so we can go through the process. Okay I will, with the clear understanding that I intend publish every SanDisk response regardless of the outcome.Other critical Amazon reviews about this product identify similar concerns, it runs hotter than a full sized USB, it is a tight fit especially in USB 3.0 ports, the housing cracks and this device prematurely ends in software/hardware failure. Therefore we would like to offer you an alternative product i.e. SanDisk® Cruzer Glide USB 3.0 128GB (SDCZ600-128G) in replacement. Please suggest if you are agreed for the alternative model".I agreed to accept their offer and on 2019.12.10 I received without cost to me a full size USB SanDisk® Cruzer Glide USB 3.0 128GB (SDCZ600-128G) delivered to my door. In the end SanDisk® or the parent company Western Digital Technologies Inc honored the warranty. I will continue to use SanDisk® as long as the honor they warranty. However I would not again purchase or recommend this specific product the SanDisk® Ultra Fit USB 3.1.cheers e.

I have 2 Blink Sync2 modules in my home security camera setup. I bought a Blink thumb-drive for one of them, and was using an old thumb-drive I had kicking around in the other. I've had a couple issues with the second Sync2 module not re-booting correctly after a power outage, and needing to be un-plugged and then re-plugged to get it back up and running. The other Sync2 module has never had this problem. So I thought perhaps it has something to do with the ancient thumb-drive I had in it. So, looked at options for mini thumb-drives on Amazon and found this tiny SanDisk model. Figured I'd try it and see if it makes any difference with the power outage issue. I plugged it into the Sync2 module and it immediately recognized it and was able to save video clips, so it's doing what it should, and fits nice and snug in the module like the mini Blink thumb-drive option. I can't comment on speed or capacity, but this isn't a concern for me in this case. I haven't had a power outage since the install so can't yet comment on whether it will solve the problem, however I've also come up with another possible solution by first installing a WiFi controlled smart-plug (Kasa bought from Amazon) in the outlet, then mounted the Sync2 module to the smart plug. I've never had any of my smart plugs fail to re-boot after a power outage, so I'm hopeful this one will also re-connect quickly, and if the Sync2 module fails to connect again, I can simply power cycle the smart-plug and hopefully get the Sync2 module back up and running, remotely if necessary. Recommend both this item and seller if considering the same use scenario.
