I did purchase this IXpand drive flash Drive from Amazon, because my first impression was that it was needed to free up space. I wanted it kept on a secure flash drive. I was going to put drive in safe. But upon reading it, it says that three files should be put on the Mac Computer. Well, first of all of your an Apple Customer & have Apple products including an iPhone, you are most likely sharing or have an iCloud account. And iTunes. If you have an Apple ID, then you know that all you info, iPhone and computer is backed up to the iCloud. If not, then all you have to do is connect your iPhone charge cord to iPhone and then to computer through the USB end and transfer over to your computer. Then the matter is, do you have sufficient memory on your comfort, like a couple of Terabytes!!!This is redundant! Unless you are able Top download pictures & videos to the drive and then store the drive away, without taking up other memory in either device- iPhone or Mac!! As far as transferring them, you don’t need this flash drive at all!So therefore I have wasted my money!!!!!So unless this drive does something different… and if so ( please tell me what & if it can be used as a storage device) then you should tell people. Which by the Way, there are tons of YouTube videos that explain hope yo transfer your photos from iPhone to Mac to help you. Next time… Google and YouTube it!Thanks for not telling me Amazon!!😳

This does the job - on long trips, was running out of space on my iPhone. I'm not a fan of buying storage, so was looking for another solution.This device does the trick - easy to use with the reliability to expect from SanDisk. You plug it in - gives you some instruction where to get the app (i recommend downloading the app before any trip you take) and the app directs with the rest. After some typical set up (like allow all photos, etc) you choose the photos and done - gives you the option to delete the photos off your phone. Easy Peasy.But the biggest benefit I didn't expect is how much easier it is to transfer photos to my computer. I'm a PC user and it seems to take forever to transfer my photos and videos (especially when there's a lot) i tether my phone to my computer directly. This device saves me on that time - i just transfer the photos over via this dongle, and then i put the dongle into my computer - easy transfer. Other benefit is - it doesn't tie down my iphone any more.Only con of this flash drive is the rubber cover only "protects" one side of the drive. either the USB end or the lightning end will be covered, so there's risk of damaging it if you just throw it anywhere. I have a small pocket in my carry bag so it's not an issue, but just a warning in case you just want to keychain it or throw it around.It does the job - and gives a ton of storage - and honestly makes it easier to transfer photos to my computer vs the nightmare of plugging in my phone directly.

I needed a flash drive for my iPhone 14 for use during a two week trip. It worked great and I was quite pleased with how easy it connected, transferred my trip photos to the flash drive and enabled me to delete photos from my iPhone to free up storage space. Four months later, it no longer connects to my iPhone. I checked online for solutions and tried everything restarting the phone, deleting and adding the app back, cleaning the connection port, and other recommendations. Nothing works but since the primary purpose of purchasing the flash drive was for backing up all trip photos, it did it's job.Update: I read an article about using a toothpick to remove debris from the connection port. Tried it and was able to remove very fine lint. Connected the flash drive and it immediately copied and transferred. Changing my rating to five stars.

1/22/23After a week long email exchange with support months ago, NOTHING has been updated, fixed or responded to.You might be able to get files off your iOS device, but unlike prior products sold under this name, you can do NOTHING else. that's it. these things are advertised as fully compatible with iOS and are very clearly NOT!In short, their support is literally NON EXISTENT lolThese drives are being as of right now, FALSELY ADVERTISED AS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE LATEST iOS ON iPhones AND iPadsTHEY can barely pull files off the iOS devices but absolutely you can no longer copy files TO the iOS devices. so. as of today, they are non functional wastes of money that essentially just regular flash drives for the PC or MAC and not what they are advertised to do. Supports has literally acknowledged this, escalated the issue from within their so called Tech Support, but done NOTHING to resolve it. no replies, no updates nothing.To summarize they admitted their was a problem, made false promises to fix it, and did nothing. If anyone wants to sue them for false advertising by all means GO FOR IT! YOU WILL TOTALLY WIN! They are still falsely advertising these devices as fully compatible with iOS when they are completely NOT! you could win a lot. I'm mildly suggesting anyone with the ways and means take San Disk to court and win some money for their false advertising. I mean why not? clearly they think they are above the law and are selling a broken product based on false claims doing nothing to actually rectify it. so I would say go for it. easy money. easy win. any corporate lawyer could take these guys easy. Terrible non functional products like these should either be fixed to actually work OR PULLED from the market. I'm surprised no one has pulled them already.

The iXpand works very well to backup photos on your iPhone using the Lightning connector and then copy/move them to a computer with the USB -A connector.The App automatically launches on your iPhone when the iXpand is connected to the Lightning port of your iPhone and using the Apo is very easy.I highly recommend the iXpand, but had one major problem that forced me to return it twice thinking it was defective.The USB-A connector on the iXpand would not connect to either my laptop or my wife’s laptop in any of the USB-A ports and I would have had to force it in, which I did not want to do. I’ve never had such a problem in all my 25+ years of using USB devices, so found this very strange. I contacted SanDisk support and they recommended that I return the iXpand for replacement to my place of purchase which was Amazon. I did, ordered a second one and same problem.Both our laptops are 9 years old, so I tried the iXpand on a friend’s 2023 laptop and again very hard to insert in the USB-A port but I got it to work. Now I have no intention of changing laptops for the foreseeable future, so I reluctantly returned the iXpand to Amazon for credit. I did not incur any shipping charges or return charges.

Comprei porque ia fazer uma viagem de 15 dias de férias para Maceió, eu e minha esposa! Todos os dias de noite fazÃamos o backup para esse pendrive! O celular não ficou superlotado com as fotos. Melhor invenção. SUPER RECOMENDO!
