I have many bows, long, recurve and compound and have been into archery for many years. This bow package is and awesome deal. Fit and finish are great, this is the first traditional bow I have ever purchased where the bow string was a good one. (Flemish twist) Most of the time I toss what came and build one. Accessories are pretty good, glove works ok for someone with smaller hands; too small for me though. Armguard is decent but I don't use them. String silencers ( fluffy fur) work well. Bow has quite a 'twang' to it with out them on. It comes with a bow stringer also. Bow kit comes with 6 carbon arrows of 30.25 length, feather fletching and 100gn bullet style field point and pin style nocks. Now the important stuff. Brace height set at 6'. Pull was spot on at 40# at 28", however my draw length is 31". Thus my draw weight came in at 45#. I have shot 200 arrows across it so far. Chrono test is as follows: Cedar shaft of 505 gn total wt at 150 fps 125gn tip Carbon shaft of 435gn total wt at 158fps 100rg tip Carbon shaft of 404gn total wt at 162 fps 100 gn tip Alum shaft of 549 gn total wt at 149 fps 100 gn tip Carbon shaft of 563 gn total wt at 144 fps 100 grn tip ( supplied with the bow) Over all I am very pleased with this bow. It shoots very well and would be a good one for someone just getting into archery or for archery clubs. Of my 5 longbows, I like this one the best. Arrow speeds are pretty close to the others I own. There is no hand shock and the draw experience is smooth. It does have a distinctive 'swoosh' sound when the string is released. I doubt I would use it for hunting, I think this is more of a target bow. Supplied arrows are pretty good, but leaning a bit on the heavy side at 14gpp at 28" on a 40# bow. With my draw length it sets about 12gpp. I do shoot heavier arrows when hunting, but for target shooting 8-10gpp would be better I think

Beautiful bow. Take off the leather hand guard and it’s even better. For the price you can’t beat it and accessories it comes with. After shopping around for a month I chose this bow over several higher priced options and I’m so glad I did. I normally shoot a Bear Grizzly recurve at 40#. This feels a touch lighter than 40# but doesn’t matter it’s just fun to shoot. I’ve shot Easton Legacy, Black Eagle Vintage, and Gold tip traditional arrows with this bow and all performed well.

After seeing another review by an Olympic archer saying it was a good starter archery set, I took the plunge to get this for my dad for Christmas. My husband shoots and my dad has expressed interest, but I didn't have hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get him something really fancy, especially since he's never done much archery before and I didn't know if it would be something he'd end up doing often/seriously.This is a great kit that includes everything you need to get started for a super accessible price. My husband was pleased with the quality when he took my dad out to try it out. It's obviously no super fancy, handmade composite Mongolian horsebow or anything crazy fancy like that, but as a starting bow we were all really pleased with the quality for the price point.

The bow itself is beautiful for the price. It shoots nice. Minimal hand shock, although this is my first bow so I’m not sure what is considered bad hand shock. Arrows are.. okay. The sleeve on the fletching to help protect the bottom comes off pretty easily. Not a huge deal. The tips do loosen a little. I’d recommend checking they are tight every few shots, especially if you miss the target and hit something solid. Shafts have held up well. The arm guard is okay. It’s a little narrow, as I have fat forearms. It also has an elbow guard, which for the most part is not needed for me. I had to cut it down to fit better. My only real issue is personal. I would have preferred the X8 recurve I think. I like the longbow, but just overall ease, I would’ve gone with a 30# recurve instead of the longbow. Unfortunately, everything has been used so I figure I’m stuck with it now.Edit: My issue is simply that I underestimated storing a 68†longbow in my apartment.. if you buy this, make sure you have a wall you can hang it up on. Mine is currently sitting in front of my tv in a cedar chest.

Seems like a quality bow for the price, but unfortunately, you’re not able to shoot it more than one time. I tried reversing the string and still will not seat. In all honesty, slightly on the dangerous side for 45 pounds of pressure

What’s with the string now popping off? Love the bow before this started happening (about three shooting sessions before this started). The above was my initial review I was about to post. Glad I didn’t because the string is FINE and the bow is sweet. I found out I messed up the string length adding silencers (incorrectly). Easy fix and it’s just a novice error I almost blamed on this awesome bow. Deffo recommend.

This bow shoots like a dream. It looks and sounds like the great bows which I shot in the fifties.I did change the preinstalled arrow rest to allow a gap for feather clearance. Both cedar and aluminum arrows shot perfectly. The carbon arrows kicked high, hitting well above where I aimed. The vertical alignment was perfect which probably means the carbon arrows are spined correctly. The problem may be the rubber guard protecting the feathers. The rubber guard could be hitting the arrow rest causing the arrow to bounce high. This is a great bow which is fun to shoot.
