I love this leotard.I purchased it for my 5 year old daughter who is really petite for her age (33% weight/50%height).I took a gamble and ordered the bigger size so that she can use it for a couple of years.The width is slightly big, but she can still wear it now.It is a beautiful light blue color that most little girls would love.Yes, it is slightly more than the other brands, but from my experience, the other brands that are cheap are not lined on the inside and after several washes they become almost see-through.This leotard is lined, it is soft, and it is very well-made.I was so pleased with the quality of the leotard that I even ordered the Sansha skirt that matches it so my daughter can wear it to ballet/tap class.I was tired of buying inexpensive leotards that in the end added up to a lot of money because they didn't last as long, so when she grew and was ready for a bigger size, I went with quality over quantity and I am so glad that I did.Jayci

Great product but buy 2 sizes up! My daughter is thin and her size still didn't fit her.

If your buying it for a tall child with long and lean torso, then you will have to go up in size. Knowing this from experience I bought the large for my 8 year old daughter and it fits great.
