Love these strings. They are very bright and loud. While the high tension may make some players hesitant if they are used to normal tension, these strings are actually thinner than most normal tension sets (such as D’Addario). The thinner string size makes up for the high tension in my opinion. They make chords sound richer. The downside is that there is less ability to play softer, but on normal tension strings you have the opposite problem in that playing louder can create sonic issues such as buzzing. Overall, these make my La Patrie collection sound like a completely different guitar. I still go for normal tension on my true classical but for modern playing these work better for me. One thing to note is that they don’t give you a ton of extra length like some manufacturers so you have to be more precise when tying them and check to make sure you left enough slack at the other end.

Incredible strings. A little bit more expensive than the cheapest fast food strings out there like d'addario (can't stand any d'addario classical string including pro arte) but BY FAR THE BEST STRINGS I have played in 25 years and well worth the little extra money for them. I'VE WASTED SO MUCH TIME AND CAUSED MYSELF SO MUCH FRUSTRATION BY TRYING TO SAVE MONEY BUYING CHEAP CRAPPY STRINGS THAT START OFF SOUNDING BAD AND THEN SLIP INTO SOUNDING HORRIBLE AFTER A WEEK OR SO. These last at least three times as long as the others I've played (including also La Bellas which are in my top three, these Alliances are still far superior). LAST EXAMPLE, I have a decent bottom end student student model (solid cedar top, laminate rosewood back and sides comparable to the cordoba c5/c7 range of guitars), nothing close to fancy. I just can't afford a solid guitar right now. However I listen to sound bites on Guitar Salon and elsewhere and these strings on my cheap guitar make it sound like a three to six thousand dollar instrument!

I have a 1993 Takamine EP-50 made in Japan; was always a very nice guitar - but these strings really bring out the resonance of the guitar. They are very bright, the guitar is much louder now and the bass is awesome -- you can feel it resonate but it stays well under control.I found that the way I like to install these strings: Just cut off the 'loose' end on the wound strings with the blue marking. Don't need any help from the sting for tying off the block. For the three wound strings, I use one loop. For the G string I use two loops -- and for the B and E string I use three loops. At the tuners, I simply loop each string twice through the tuning peg, then cut flush later for a nice neat appearance. I keep the string as much 'in-line' as possible with the nut, so in some cases the string will wrap around the peg drifting toward the center of the headstock (D and G for example) and in other cases toward the edge of the headstock (low E and high E).Took a day or so for the strings to settle in, as expected. The guitar sounds much better now; very happy with these strings. They feel and play like normal tension strings but they sound like high tension. I have no issue with dynamic range either, they play softly very well - and when you play them loud they really project nicely.

These strings are amazing! They make a huge difference in the sound of my guitar! I will never go back to other brands I have used. They are a bit pricey compared to some other brands, but they sound so much better that they are worth the extra cost. I am hoping they will hold up well.

So I have always gotten these strings because they were the best I could find. Usually you got to pay $20 for a good pair of nylon string. I thought these were good enough and would save me five bucks. Lately, these strings start to come apart on the areas where the frets touch them (see picture attached). It only happens on the metal wound strings, not the nylon, specifically the D and A strings, but mainly the D string. These strings sound amazing for the first week of use, but after they start to come apart, all over, in different parts of the frets. I always keep my guitar in the case so my strings stay fresh up to a month. These string have lately been causing me problems. In the long run a pair of strings worth $20 will end up saving me money. The Sevilla strings are always good. This obviously depends on how much you play. I play 1-3 hours 3-5 times a weeks.

Great strings. Beautiful, clear, and vibrant with a great timbre. The tension of the 540J is absolutely perfect for me. I spoke with a well known luthier in the Macarena neighborhood of Sevilla, Spain in April while on vacation and he recommended this particular model of Savarez strings as his absolute favorite. I have used other tensions and hybrid sets of Savarez strings on my flamenco guitars, but I switched to these 540J's and I couldn't be happier.
