I have used a saxophone swab in the past that I had to add more weight to the pull-string. That was not a problem with these swabs. The body swab is easy to get the pull-string through the body. An added bonus on the main body swab is a second pull string making it easy to back out the swab in case it gets stuck. The shape of the body swab helps ensure you get a good drying out of the saxophone. I used this on my tenor saxophone, have not yet tried it on my alto saxophone.I have sharp edges on my teeth, so use of the mouthpiece pads are a necessity. These pads are not as thick as some I have used, but are still comfortable and do the job very well.I can't use the thumb rest pad. My tenor is quite old and the shape of the rest just doesn't work with my instrument (I have not seen one that will). It is probably more accurate to say the shape of my thumb rest doesn't work with this thumb rest pad.I also haven't tried the cork grease or key oil, but it is nice to have them in the kit.

A solid kit of accessories. The swabs work pretty well, the mouthpiece protectors don't fall apart or have a bad taste. A note to beginners, avoid using the key oil yourself. Have a band director or music shop technician take a look if you feel you have a key that needs attention.

I recently broke out my old alto sax from 40+ years ago. Needless to say, I had to do a little work on it to make it look good and play well. After recorking the neck, I decided to clean it up a bit. The Nan Yante sax cleaning/care kit contained everything I needed to get it into good playing condition and to keep it maintained.I've only used it a few times so far, but I can see that it's a complete set that includes key oil and cork grease to keep the moving parts moving. You could probably get by with a microfiber cloth for cleaning and polishing the shiny parts, but the specially-designed cloths included in the kit are very convenient. All-in-all, if you have a sax, you should probably pick up this kit that bundles together everything you'll need to keep honkin'.

I mainly ordered this kit for cleaning my child's Alto Saxophone. It works very well and fits it perfectly. The kit comes with other items as well like key oil, cork grease, screwdriver, thumb rest, mouthpiece pad, and small brushes. We do not need the oil and screwdriver at this time, but other items are pretty useful considering he is still new to the Sax. I like this kit. It is worth my money.

This kit includes:1.02 ounce bottle of key oilSmall, conical brush with a bristle section about 2†longTiny straight bristle brush with a brush at the other end, about 3†overallVery small, flathead screwdriver — the kind used to fix eyeglassesTube of cork grease with a fairly hard textureSmall 2-sided reed holder that accommodates two alto sax reeds (rather flimsy)Black rubber thumb hook cover1 sheet of 8 thin alto mouthpiece bite pads2 pull-through cleaning cloths: one larger one for the body tube and a small one for the neck1 polishing cloths, roughly 12†squareIndividually, the components are cheaply made but functional. Taken together, it’s a comprehensive cleaning kit — but it’s missing a carrying case. (I don’t consider the cardboard box it came in to be a proper, reusable case.)It will get the job done.
