We all know that with enough time and the correct tools nothing is impenetrable. But this chain is as close as you're going to get to stopping a perp because unless he has a lot of time and some sort of electric grinding tool and or a 5 foot bolt cutter he's not getting through this chain any time soon. If one were going to steal something this chain is locked to, the attack point might shift to the lock or what the chain is wrapped around because this thing is an animal and it might be easier to attack a "weaker" part. Though it's made in China it seems to be made well. There is a cover to the chain that has velcro wrapped through the link so it can't shift when you're trying to loop it through something. This was a big help because I was feeding the chain through the seat frame of my truck and it was a very tight fit. The weight alone tells you that this chain means serious business (approx 6 lbs). If I had a complaint it would be that the black cover that covers the chain leaves too many links exposed. I understand it's like that for the ring to cinch the chain and then you lock your padlock through it but in my case it makes too much noise when I shift my gun safe around. I used heat shrink tubing to keep the links quiet and now it's much quieter when I move the safe around. Right now I'm using them in conjunction with my gun safes (Fort Knox) in my trucks (wrapped around the seat frame) and in my house as well. I feel very confident that the safes are staying put . The cinching action of the ring allows the chain to to extend further than if you had to lock both links with a padlock. So these are HEAVY chains. Surprisingly heavy. I really do think they are probably overkill in this 12mm size for most purposes, but for what they are, they are nice. The cinch ring is really a great idea, giving you more length with less chain. I got them to secure some very expensive mountain bikes if they need to be left reasonably unattended. They could steal the vehicle easier than they could get through these chains. They are also annoying, in that they are unwieldy and a pain to actually use due to their size and weight. Unless you are SURE you need this level of security, I really think I would consider going down to like 8mm, but you can't go wrong with these Schlage chains (which I have heard are the mfg for Kryptonite chains as well).

We're using these chains with U-locks to help prevent our hitch racks/bikes from being stolen off our cars. The most secure mounting method we found is to loop the cinch ring end around the hitch bar under the bumper where it's hardest to tamper with. This chain's length and cinch ring works well for this. Chains without cinch rings have a usable length of only about half their actual length because both ends have to be secured at the lock.We chose these because they're indistinguishable from Kryptonites, but significantly cheaper. This chain is essentially the same as Kryptonite chains we already have, which should be no surprise since Schlage acquired Kryptonite years ago. A modification we made was to slide used bicycle inner tube over the exposed chain links to help prevent scratching or rattling. We used two layers of inner tubes (2.4" and 3.0") to double the protection.

19 links, 20 if you count the ring. the sleeve can be made to cover 13 of them. whole thindimensions of each link:external: 44x75mminternal: 20x52mmdimensions of ring:external: 75mminternal: 51mmthe hexagonal stock used to make the links is about 12.5mm across the flats, 19mm across the points. the innermost and outermost circumferences are flats, not points.A real beefy chain, 3kg on the dot. pretty sure no bolt cutters are getting through these, and probably a couple minutes with an angle grinder. it's pretty much guaranteed to not be the weakest link of your security system, so make sure you get some good locks to go along with it, and use them properly to secure as much of your bike as you can. A nice feature of the cinch design is that it's easy to use multiple locks, as each one only has to go through one link somewhere on the chain. Ideally, use locks that are each vulnerable to different kinds of attacks.Really good value for money, compared to the big brand names.

A substantial chain with just about the right length for reasonable situations. BIG DOWNSIDE: the sheath is not long enough and will scrape the crap out of your bike. My bike is for transportation and it is brand new so I don't really care, but you might want to look into getting some sort of supplemental sheath. The cinch link is great- let you maximize the length and simplifies locking. I think this is a great lock to go with it... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004Y8CA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_34

You cant beat the quality at this price, overall its a good quality12mm chain. 12mm chain is the minimum you want as anything smaller is much to easy to cut nowadays. It would be better if the cover was longer and there were slightly longer chain options.

This is actually the Kryptonite New York Noose (it is one and the same) at less than halp the price.

Parece indestructible! Bueno por lo menos que dará buena batalla. Lo malo es que pesa demasiado como para transportarla en la bici o moto. Deberás usar un candado grande.

I underestimated just how chunky a 12mm chain would be, but for locking up an expensive mountain bike overnight, this is kinda what you want. It's very cheap insurance when paired with a quality lock - just make sure your lock has enough clearance for the chain and whatever you're locking to. I bought an Abus Diskus and it *barely* closes over this and my car's receiver. The cover is also nice for avoiding scratches while wrapped around an expensive frame, though I wish it were a little longer. Getting the first few unsheathed links around the frame takes some dexterity.Overall, good product especially with the warehouse deals, though I'd probably settle for a 10mm chain if I were to buy another. The 12mm feels a little overkill.

Arrived on time it's a big heavy chain. I have used it many times already. I like the cinch ring its very useful.I feel confident locking my bike downtown. It's a great visual deterrent. Most people would say it's too heavy to be practical, but I really don't mind the weight. Most of all the price is ok and quality is good its hardened steel, and I can't see anyone being able to cut it with bolt cutters. Compared to a U lock it would be difficult to cut with an angle grinder. Overall, I am totally pleased with my purchase.
