2.5' x 3.5' is the right size to cover my lap, sides, and lower legs without being long enough to envelopemy feet while driving. I drive a Prius - not a wide interior - so the 3.5' was even wide enough to bring a little warmth for me AND my passenger. My second requirement was for the blanket to be made of a fabric that didn't slide around - the two layers are stable and slightly plush so the blanket stays put. This whole blanket warms up, not just a small patch for the lap - it's not machine washable but spot cleaning will do for my lifestyle. It warms up faster than my car heater - it's not a "furnace" but cozy enough, especially since I also have a seat warmers. It turns on when I start the car, and off when I turn the car off - so I need to unplug it on those few transition days between cold and warm. This car blanket exactly meets my needs and I just ordered a second pone for the back seat.

Needed something to take the chill out of driving in Wisconsin winter - but I can't handle things that make me too hot. This doesn't get too hot at all - some may be disappointed that it is not like a heating pad. But it keeps my lap warm almost right away with its warm, soft fabric. It's not too bulky and just about the right size. I have a 36" inseam and it is plenty long. I would prefer it just a tad wider for my generous thighs, but it does stretch to fit enough to tuck just enough under my thighs. I got it as a Black Friday sale so it is definitely worth the price.

The blanket is very energy efficient as it doesn't consume electricity and remains at room temperature. If you're looking for a towel with a funny leash, this may be the product for you!

I use this for my son’s car seat on cold mornings. I keep it plugged into an outlet that shuts off when I turn off my car (important!) It heats up quickly and doesn’t get too hot. A great safe alternative since you can’t have a jacket on your child in a car seat!

It's small but nice to have on very cold days. It only uses around 3 amps to work.
