Got it for a 7 year old and it fit well. The quality is impressive, with a sturdy build that provides great protection. It's also very comfortable, thanks to the adjustable straps and padding inside, ensuring a snug fit without any discomfort. We ordered a few helmets for my 9 year old from Amazon and REI. Also went to Walmart to see what they had. None of them, except this one worked. The size is right. The other Schwinn helmet (see my review for Schwinn Youth Intercept Helmet, Green) we ordered from Amazon was badly manufactured. Plastic warped. But this one is fine. I inspected the labels inside which show the CPSC logo. Most of them, including this one, were made in China.Make sure you check the YEAR it is made. those made in earlier years (2014 and earlier) were bad and look like old stock. Some were too large to fit a youth's head or had straps under the chin that rubs uncomfortably. Padding inside the S Thrasher Youth is not too thin either. Easily removable for cleaning. The visor, although very sharp looking, barely provide any shade- more for aesthetic value. This is an Ok helmet for the price. Not as nicely made compared to the GIRO Youth Rascal that we tried at REI (and also available on Amazon) which is a lot more $ (we had to return the Giro because the M/L sizing is too small but would have gladly paid more for a better helmet if it had fit). Overall, we are happy with the Schwinn Thrasher Youth helmet protection and glad finally one that fits well!

The best feature of this (aside from safety) is the adjustable fit dial in the back. Because of this this helmet fits my daughter's head perfectly leaving some room to grow.The material is sturdy and is built the way you'd expect a helmet to be.The pattern is cute and has not faded when kept inside when not in use.My 7 year old daughter says this is comfortable and we do not have to battle her to wear it.

The Thrasher Youth Bike Helmet offers top-notch protection and comfort, making it an excellent choice for young riders. I initially tried the adult one and it felt large for my head and got this one. It fits well compared to the other and its good!

My son, 9, had outgrown his old helmet, so I bought this one. Less than three weeks later, he put it to the test. He is a daredevil who loves speed. Riding down a hill, that he isn’t supposed to ride on, he lost control at ~30 mph and landed on the side of his head, on the asphalt. He was knocked out momentarily, but passed the concussion screening at the ER. He is fine, other than some road rash. I hate to think how he might have fared with his old helmet, or no helmet. The ER doctor said that the spot he hit was about the worst place to hit for head injuries.Don’t skimp on safety equipment, ever, especially for kids. I am ordering this exact same helmet as a replacement. The helmet held up so well I couldn’t initially tell where he hit his head. There was a small scuff and a little crack in the foam, and then I noticed the compression of the foam where it cushioned his head. Best money I have ever spent.

All four of my kids have this helmet and I especially like the extra bump in the back to protect the back of their head. The helmets are nice and airy so they don’t get too hot.

Purchased brand new. It just arrived with tags on. It's already falling apart. The 'shell' is already peeling off the styrofoam. Styrofoam seems patched.I don't trust this helmet. Returning.
