This part is an EXACT replacement for the original blower motor in my 2003 (1st gen) Toyota Tacoma. Installation is extremely simple and only takes about 5-10 minutes because there are only 3 screws and 1 electrical clip. The screws use an 8mm socket, OR a Torx bit, OR a flat screwdriver bit. The electrical connection is tool-free and just requires slight finger pressure to loosen the clip to then remove it. Upon reinstall, just press the connection into the socket and it will click into place when the connection is complete. This blower motor is located just above where a passenger's feet would be under the dash ... and directly under the glove compartment (nearer to the outside kick panel). I am VERY happy I bought this new unit and only angry with myself because I wasted over an hour of my time trying to clean the old unit. It worked but was very loud. I'm guessing after 17 years and 186,000 miles, the original blower motor's bearings were just worn out. Once I put in the new blower motor it blew air smoothly through the vents easily and, thankfully, extremely quietly. Definitely 5 stars!!!

This unit is a great cheap alternative to going oem.l as Toyota charges a lot for a replacement. The two issues I experienced with installing it in my 2000 Toyota Tacoma was that it was not exactly the same size on the edges where the screws are and didn’t go 100% flush (only one side was flush, screws still lined up, but two of the sides were caught on the plastic), so I had to use longer screws to get it to work vs using the original screws (could only use one of them). Also when I first installed it, it was loud due to it grinding on the metal above cause it’s actually slightly taller. I used sand paper and a file to very very slightly lower the top of it, and then it worked perfect and didn’t grind. It’s so much quieter than the original one which was loose, had a ton of dust/maybe pac rat in it, and a cigarette butt… Overall if you’re a little savvy with jerry rigging and making things work/at least barely mechanically inclined, you got this. I’m pleased with it now that I got it installed and am overall happy with my purchase.

I should have never replaced my original one, that was 20 years strong and NO issues. I ONLY replaced the original because I thought you know it’s old and a bit dirty.I f’d up, this one gave out already and not even a year old. RIGHT IN THE SUMMER!!! So 100+degrees outside and now inside my vehicle is even hotter.Can’t even contact these people for a refund. I definitely do NOT need another faulty one from these people. DO NOT BUY.Or you will be left without a blower and have to suffer the elements because this blower motor these guys sell is hell unreliable!! DO NOT BUY!

This fit perfectly in my 2001 Tacoma PreRunner double cab. Once you figure out how to turn yourself upside down and fit your head & arms up under the dashboard it's a super easy install; just 3 screws and a plug. If you're a large person or if you're not too flexible, you might have an easier time by removing the passenger seat first.It was a good price, blows air with good force, and has run reliably without any issues for 3 months now. I'm pleased so far. I'll update if it that changes.
