I generally control weeds with spot treatments which I spray on with a two gallon battery powered sprayer. But this year, I had an aggressive outbreak of both grassy and broad leaf weeds in the spring. I was able to control the grassy weeds with Tenacity and Atrazine but the broad leaf weeds were so pervasive that I considered buying a large 6 gallon sprayer on a cart to make it easier on me. I notice that there are few products these days which are dry and only for weeds. I had already done a weed and feed with broad leaf weed control and preemergent, and Centipede does not like being over fertilized. So I decided to give this a shot.I put it on the entire yard and watched for two or three weeks. I had purposely not cut the grass so I could better see the weeds so it was easy to watch for results. After about three weeks the weeds looks only slightly worse for wear and I feared I might have wasted my money. I went ahead and started cutting the grass each week thereafter. After about three more weeks I noticed that the weeds were getting harder to see. And within a few more weeks they were completely gone. I did do a second treatment where the Centipede had been thinned during the winter but only a sectional basis, not really spot treatment, just sections that seemed to need more help. So after about a total of 6-8 weeks, I now basically have no weeds and after I started cutting the lawn, the weeds never "stood up" again. Spreading with a hand held rotary spreader is so much easier than any other style of application that I think this is how I'll handle the yard in the future.

After spreading this product and seeing no results for a week (as in all weeds left standing tall) a couple of days after the lawn was mowed I noticed nearly all the weeds were gone! So welp I must say it works. I guess it may not kill the existing weeds but once cut down they don't return. My apologies for the initial bad review. I'll follow up if anything changes.

As long as you follow the instructions as to how to apply , this weed n feed is really great controlling all kinds of weed in your lawn . One thing you need to understand is it’s not an overnight thing , it takes a few weeks for it to do the job so have faith it does work just takes time .. super easy to apply with a Scott’s spreader the only down part is it smells up your shop if you leave the bag open so put a zip time on the leftovers so it keeps the smell in the bag . Great stuff , I use it a lot and it always works great ..

I am utterly disappointed in this Scotts Weed Control for Dandelions and Clover.I usually only trust Scotts Brand products for my lawn care needs. I have solely believed in their products for many years and am always willing to spend the extra amount of money to receive a premium brand product..But this year, I got an infestation of small sized clover in my Bermuda lawn which I try to keep in really good shape in Southern California where temps are warm regularly..I tried various safe-for-grass type liquid weed control spot treatments and nothing seemed to work in killing the small sized clover infestation.I also tried Scotts Turf Builder Triple Action1 - Combination Weed Control, Weed Preventer, and Fertilizer and it too, did not kill this clover in my Bermuda lawn. NOTHING !I then resorted to this Scotts Weed Control for Lawns, Weed Killer, Kills Over 200 Weed Types Including Dandelion and Clover. At first, I spread it over the entire damp, wet lawn with a broadcast spreader and watched it for a few weeks to see if it would kill the clover. NOTHING happened to the clover. So I bought a second bag of this Scotts product as it says on the package that it KILLS CLOVER and I spot treated each and every clover infested area (patches) with it again. I waited a few weeks to see if it was effective and it slightly killed some of the clover, but by the next mowing, the clover came back. I applied a 3rd treatment of this Scotts Weed Control for Lawns, Weed Killer for Dandelion and Clover. This 3rd treatment again, was a targeted spot treatment for each and every area of the clover infestation (small patches)..... NOTHING. No Results !So here I am out of a bunch of money for stupidly buying 2 large bags of this product because I believed in Scotts Products for years. I can't tell you how frustrated I am and now, I have no idea now, how to get rid of this clover infestation without feeling that anything I buy, will be a total waste of money. You have been warned ! This does NOT work on small sized clover. I followed the Scotts Instructions EXACTLY. I am COMPLETELY disappointed in Scotts Products now and I wonder if the environmentalists have made Scotts, re-formulate their products to the point of ineffectiveness. I am going to try other brands now and give up on Scotts after this very trying and disappointing experience with their product.

I had to return this weed killer because it is not recommended for my grass. I wish the types of grass had been prominently displayed. It would have saved both Amazon and me a lot of trouble. I had to make up a rating to post this. As I didn't use it, I have no rating.

I bought this product to get a jump on the sticker weeds in my back yard. the product works very well, all the weeds look brown and dead, the bermuda looks healthy - My biggest (and only) complaint is that there is a frikken novel of fine print on the back of the bag - seriously, it took me an unreasonable amount of time to find the instructions for applying the product. it enrages me every time i see the header "how to use" and then proceed to read through paragraphs of "it is unlawful to use this product....' and "it is important to follow directions" - well where the hell are they?????Just tell me how much to use (spreader settings) and whether the lawn needs to be wet or dry. That information IS in there, but so hard to find that i believe it CONTRIBUTES to misuse of the product , as a less patient person might say "screw it, i'm gonna eyeball it"

This is pure material and I don’t have to judge whether I’m over fertilizing just to kill hard to get patches

I was careful to follow the bag's instructions when laying this product out, but it was ineffective at killing the weeds the label described. It was a complete waste of time & money.
