Skin friendly materials

We advise ordering based on your little one's wingspan. Children's proportions vary hugely, meaning age range is not always an accurate guide to fit
Getting the Right Size ScratchSleeves
As ScratchSleeves are a new and novel product, conventional children’s clothes sizes do not always align. This is why we came up with our own method of ensuring that you can obtain a pair of ScratchSleeves that fit your baby or child.
You will need to measure your child’s ‘wingspan’. Put one end of a tape measure in the center of their back, between the shoulder blades, and measure the distance from there to the tips of their fingers. Double this measurement to calculate the wingspan. Our sizing tends to run large so we suggest refraining from buying a larger size even if your child’s wingspan is close to the top of the size range.
Please note that as we use natural fibers, we expect our products to shrink by around 4% in the first few washes. This is factored into our sizing.
- Use a 40°C cycle
- Use non-biological washing detergent, as the mittens include 100% silk fabric which can be degraded by biological detergents
- We suggest putting your ScratchSleeves in a laundry bag or pillow case to minimize stretching.
- Turn your ScratchSleeves inside out before washing
They can also be tumble dried and ironed, but please avoid stain removers as they are often based on a biological formula which degrades the fabrics.
We recommend avoiding the use of eco washing balls. Although they are often recommended for use when dealing with allergies, they increase the alkalinity of the water which denatures the silk.

Got this for my daughter who likes to pull her hair instead of sleeping. These work just as intended. They stay on all night, and the hand part is very soft.

Our son had a mosquito bite on his forehead that he just could not stop picking. I thought he wouldn’t like this shirt at night, but he has no problem wearing it. I tell him it helps keeps his fingers warm!! It’s helping immensely with keeping him from picking his boo-boo.

The satin on the hands does keep from being able to pull/break the hair. However, we’ve had these about two months and the stitch seem from the cotton fabric to the satin is coming apart. We have two pairs and they’re worn nightly so if each has been worn for about 30 days each and washed 1-2x a week I’d say they’re not very durable in that respect. May have shrunk a tiny bit but for now they work.

I bought this for my 2 year old grand daughter. She has extremely itchy and sensitive skin since birth. We have tried everything from lotions, creams, prescribed creams and nothing works! She does her scratching at night and only on her sides and back as far as she can reach.This has been a game changer and she wears it every night! Its perfect! I wish it came in more colors. We call it her little straight jacket. She calls it that too. CPS hasn't been called yet. lol.

I will be getting a few more of these â¤ï¸ my 2 yr old with extreme eczema seems comfortable and isn’t able to cause any damage to herself while scratching. Iv also noticed her attempting to scratch less and she was able to sleep better last night with these on .

My kiddo always picks at mosquito bites and any other little scratch or wound he gets. A small bite won't heal for over a month because of this, leaving significant scars. This jacket fixed that right away. After just a week with the jacket on for naps/bedtime and all of his wounds were healed. I'm so grateful for this product!

Overall I recommend this product because my daughter was able to sleep through the night after wearing it, as opposed to waking up scratching and bleeding. The design could be better. We have been using this nightly for 2 months and there is already a hole in the silk mitten. The material is very thin. Secondly, the Velcro lost its stickiness and constantly comes undone. The Velcro parts get stuck to other items in the washing machine, damaging other clothes. I have to readjust the closure multiple times a night for my daughter. It’s worth the annoyance but really wish they can improve the material durability and the closure options. Something like a zipper or snap would be much more functional.

My niece has struggled with dry and itchy skin for ages. We have tried all sorts of creams, from doctors and recommended online and nothing has helped. She would constantly scratch in the night and mitts didn't help as she would pull them off.Thank goodness for this amazing thing! My niece actually loves wearing it (she doesn't rush to take it off and keeps it on in the mornings!) The improvement to her skin has been huge as she is no longer constantly scratching in the night. Honestly this is brilliant.

Although I'm not obsessed with the idea of putting what is nearly a straightjacket on my 2-year old, this has really helped us. Whenever he has a flare up, his nights are plagued by intense and subconscious scratching. He can still pick up his water bottle and pacifier with these sleeves on, but is protected from himself. He has even asked for it a few times. That's a win.Tough price point to invest in multiple, but great product.From a mom who also suffers from eczema, I wish we had this when I was young!

Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Nice material, very comfortable. Velcro is pretty useless - it’s that smooth no-scratch stuff, which I understand why it’s used but it doesn’t hold up, so had to replace, and considering its intended use (daily wear, on kids) it really should have double stitched seams. Good product overall though.
