I purchased this to use on my demo hammer for removing tile. This did a great job, I purchased a 3 and 6 inch wide blade, but could have easily gotten by with just the 3”.

This is a quality chisel but it did not work great on the thin set mortar that I was trying to remove from the floor tile I took up.

Hefty and solid. The blade has remained sharp and the metal seems durable. I like the angle of the bevel on the blade—allows for scraping without puncturing the subfloor. For scraping purposes, to trigger the hammer mechanism in your demo hammer you often need to use your hand to hold the bit back in the hammer to engage rapid repeated controlled impacts. I found on this large job I used this bit for, it was useful to build an angled sled for my hammer, supporting the weight of it and keeping it stable while controlling the impacts of the beveled blade.

This made the tile removal very easy and quick. Got some divots from the job (12’x8’). It will need a grinding before the next job. If you have a lot of removal, you may want to get a sturdier attachment.

Just got mine. I have some tile to chip up as well as some shoddy masonry. This attachment does the trick.

My wife and I have been working on remodeling our kitchen and one of the steps was to take up the old ceramic tile the previous owners ran from the front door to the kitchen. It wasn't in bad shape, but I could tell from the hallow sounds on some of the tiles that it wasn't set down properly. I had originally assumed I was going to let my son just break them up with a sledgehammer, but that wasn't taking up the thinset from the original install. I picked up this bit and borrowed a large hammer drill from a friend. The bit mounted in the hammer drill easily and it was off to work. The wide flat bit did a great job of not only getting under and popping the tiles, but also chiseled off the old thinset. I couldn't have been happier with the performance and I really didn't think it was that much worse for wear when I was done. If you use your head when using it, there shouldn't be any major nicks or distortion to the bit. It looked used afterwards, but not destroyed.Overall, this bit worked great for my case. With care, I think you can easily extend the life of it. Well worth the money for me.
