It works well for cleaning small irregular surfaces at work It does wear out so don't expect it to last forever. That said, I would, and did, buy again.

I purchased this to clean Velcro. Over time Velcro / hook and loop fasteners acquire wooly boogers and lose their holding power. This product easily removes the debris which accumulate. WHEN USING apply light pressure, just enough to remove the majority of the crud that has built up.

I tried to post photos but Amazon app being snotty. I had to take a heat gun and superglue a scrap piece of wood to keep it somewhat straight.

I bought this file card to restore the Velcro on my hiking sandals. Over time, the hook side of the Velcro got clogged with threads from my unraveling jeans and my shoes wouldn’t stay closed any more.Running this file card over the Velcro restored it to a like-new condition. In the past, I’ve had to stop wearing shoes and buy a new pair when the Velcro quit working but now I will get many more months of use out of these shoes.

Granted, I purchased this tool in 2017, but I only used it a limited amount each year, less than once per month. Today, I tried to clean a lightly dirty file (a little bit of enamel paint dust) and the handle cracked on both sides, right about where it meets the teeth/bristles. With a few attempts to finish the cleaning job, it separated into two pieces. I just ordered a replacement card file with a wood handle that is actually a little less expensive than this one, and I am guessing that it should hold up better for normal use. BTW, the cleaning performance of this card file has been so-so since it was new. People say that you get what you pay for, and this tool is certainly one of the less expensive options. However, I think that it crosses the line of the "junk tool" category.

Bought this for cleaning my ski-sharpening files, which often get gummed up with wax and other gunk. This file works well for cleaning it.
