The powerful and compact Sea Dragon Universal Flash makes it simple to add light and color to your images down to 200 feet/60 meters. Producing rich, deep colors in underwater photos, the Sea Dragon Flash is compatible with SeaLife camera models, and most other brands of underwater cameras that use an internal flash.
Includes 7mm optical cable plug to easily adapt to any non-SeaLife underwater camera housing with optical cable plug port, such as Olympus, Fantasea and Sea&Sea. A universal flash link mask is also included to adapt to any camera with an internal flash.
The Sea Dragon Flash is also available in a head-only (SL9631) configuration containing everything that the SL963 kit has, except grip, tray and Sea Dragon case.
Variable power adjustment and large controls make it easy to fine tune brightness, while leaving the flash in Auto Mode automatically adjusts brightness. Use the Auto Learn Mode to easily sync the pre-flash with your camera by selecting Auto Brightness or by manually adjusting the brightness for optimal exposure. A quick-release button detaches flash head for aiming in hard to reach areas. The included diffuser spreads light out evenly, preventing a hotspot and backscatter.
Quickly and easily expand Sea Dragon lighting with Flex-Connect – add grips, Flex Arms, trays and other accessories with just a "click!" Flex-Connect allows you to transform your camera set from compact to full-featured in just seconds, providing a quick way to adjust to any dive environment.
With the included 7mm optical cable plug, universal integration is easy; simply mount the camera onto the tray and plug the 7mm cable adapter into the housing and insert the optical cable. A universal flash link adapter is also included should the camera or housing not feature a 7mm optical cable plug. The Flash is compatible with all SeaLife DC Series cameras and other camera brands using an external flash.

Flash works as designed, the camera shuts off the red filter if using forced flash, thus reducing color.My DS2000 worked with it...if I set the ISO on High Auto and Flash on auto demand. I needed to put a Velcro cover over the quick release to keep the glass tube in place and also keep my wrist restraint attachment from opening the release button. The quick connect really needs a safety secondary button to reduce accidental arm release....thus the Velcro collar over it to act as a safety. comfortable to use....I used mine with one bendable quick release arm extension...and it worked well. 2 additional arm extensions are too unwieldy and heavy....and moved/bent with underwater movement. I had bought 2 strobes...but only ended up using one during my recent 18 dives in Bonaire. When I got home, I drilled 4 holes in the base plate ( two at each end of the base inside and softened the edges) to hold my various wrist cords and lens cover parts....rubber bands to hold them while underwater to keep them out of the camera view.

Have owned several sealife cameras, enclosures with video light and now the Dragon strobe that shrank my camera kit down in size from original sealife strobe that was much bigger. Same amount of batteries 4AAI experienced going through a set of batteries in about 60 minutes. I found that turning flash off until needed gave me certainty of flash for full hour dive times. I like the compact size with easy to reach control’s. Defuser flop’s around if not in use. I’ll try some different batteries to compare..In general I like this flash would recommend sealife/Dragon products

Fired at max power a few times and then died. Only got in the water a few times. Reached out to sea and sea directly for replacement (1 year warrenty) and never got a response.

Used on 13 dives in Belize, worked great. Two dives days per set of AA batteries. The flash often charges faster than the camera which is what syncs the flash to fire.

does not work with a sealife micro 3.0. Found this out only after buying the flash. if you don't have a flash on your camera or a port for the micro wire, this flash will not work on your camera.

Easy calibration, good battery life. Using it with an Olympus TG-6. The added light extension handle doesn't have much flexibility.

This flash does not come with a battery nor charging cord for the battery. The assumption would be you’d have everything included since this is a unique battery for this item. Now I’ll have to go out and purchase a battery would’ve been nice to get everything in one package.

I love this new sea life flash. Not only was it brighter, but the case is much easier. I love the auto mode for underwater novices like myself. I love the pictures that I was able to capture in the Cenotes while in Mexico, as well as some open water dives. I could go on a two tank dive before replacing the batteries (but then again I go picture crazy and came back with well over 1,500 pictures)! This flash is also lighter, thinner, and easier than the previous one. I also have the flex arm for added customization and had lots of fun with this set up.

Excellent results but only works from 8'. Takes a bit of getting used to. Need patience and practice as with all scuba phototech.

Ich nutze es mit eine flex Verlaengerung. War am Anfang misstraurisch, da Erstversuche zu fotografieren fehlgeschlagen sind. Dann habe ich endlich die Bedienung gelesen und Blitz erfolgreich mit der Kamera synchronisiert. Funkzioniert einwandfrei. Jetzt habe ich Farben, die frueher nicht zu sehen waren.Glaube das ist ein sehr gutter Blitz fuer Hobby Fotographie. Kann es fuer Urlaubstaucher nur empfehlen.Anbei einige der ersten Fotos die ich gemacht habe.

vor allem, weil sich die Blitzstärke ganz leicht unter Wasser verändern läßt.Ich habe ein ziemlich billige Kamera von Nikon, die bis 30m Wasserdicht ist und da ist der Blitz dazu schon sehr super.Ein bißchen mühsam ist das System mit dem Lichtleiterkabel. Da hätte mir eine Art "Sklavenblitz" besser gefallen, weil wenn man nicht aufpaßt hat man das Kabel vorm Objektiv. Und besonders gut halten diese Selbstkleberklettbänder auch nicht auf der Nikon.
